Let me be fair and share my experience after spending 25 years in the air for business work. U should change ur name since u r carrying remarkable name and flag that should perfectly represents the name of great country and great city. What a shame! This is my first time flying with Etihad and hopefully it will be the last. Below are my observations: when checking in the airport, i was surprised by abu dhabi airport. I felt i am in the 90s. Very low ceilings, shallow corridors, carpet in passengers corridor, really! 2- when we did our booking, we got single reference number (4 seats). It is with surprise that when we did the check in, the 4 of us were scattered across the cabin. An unrealistic feedback from the check in counter is that we shld have did online checkin. Bla!! Couldnt ever thought of irrelevant answer with limited intellectual i am witnessing. 2- the chairs, indoor, the overall ambient of the plane is apparently cheap. 3- we did online checkin in our way back (to reserve our seats). Here comes the fun part: a- we still got separated. B- on the online checkin portal, it asked for visa number (Imagine!! First time ever this had been asked and this is the need for the gate security check to reverify this) so being a resident, i entered my visa if BUT my online got stuck and i need to admit at checkin office. There was no option for residents to check in. C- at airport, average check-in time is 12-15 minutes per passenger (1 or more persons irrespectively). It is either people were incompetent, or that the checking procedure of Etihad is way different than SpaceX.! D- the food at plane was far below any 3rd degree airline. I thought it was my taste, but all passengers next to us had the same view. E- back to airport, to get ur luggage was very lengthy waiting time. Not sure why if the airport is tiny.
It is very regretting experience to be named as national carrier. You are not re-inventing the industry. Simply u could have copied the others and you would have done ok.
Sorry for the long note that i believe no one from the airline will check as they might believe they are above people’ comments. Wake up and start working to the best of...

SCAMMER+WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I normally don’t bother giving any bad reviews but they are so horrendous that I have to. Went ahead with free cancellation (because Etihad had operational changes to our flights) and received an email that refund has been processed. Been a month, but until now after multiples calls with their call centre, nothing is resolved, always saying “please call back after 5 working days for update”. They can’t even follow up with the updates, they need you to call in. Who does that? And when you do call in, they have no updates and ask you to call again. How much more inefficient can you get???
Etihad web and app had tech issues and wasn’t accepting payment/could not complete ticketing process. Called into customer service and after taking more than an hour was “looking into it” and obtaining relevant proofs from me, they CANNOT help you with the ticketing of the same tickets and quotes you tickets that are double the price that is showing on the web. (And no the ticket price on web did NOT increase as we talked). They do nothing about their issues and waste your time and dump extra costs on you.
I would give 0 star if I could. Please wake up and process all the required refunds you should have processed long back. It’s such a shame to see all these bad reviews of customers getting scammed out of a...
Read moreAvoid at all costs!!!!! I have never been treated so poorly by an airline, and mind you I travel a lot.
I booked a flight from Saudi to Europe, fully operated by Etihad. The two legs of my flight got a total of 40 hours delay!!
It was a nightmare. First, the outbound flight got delayed leaving me stranded in Abu Dhabi for over 33 hours!! I lost a full day of my 7-day trip. I tried to stay patient and give Etihad a chance to make it right — but the return flight was even worse.
Unbelievably, my return flight also got delayed for over 7 hours!!!
I arrived well before departure, only to find the check-in counter closed more than two hours before the flight. I had to drag all my luggage through immigration and security myself and check it in at the gate. The staff there were rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to offer any assistance when I asked for help after my connection was already missed because of Etihad’s own delay.
By the time I finally reached home — 7 hours later than scheduled — I was exhausted, missed my work shift, and discovered my luggage was damaged!
Feedback system is garbage!! My feedback and requests for fair treatment were ignored or answered with unacceptable delays. They refused to offer any real compensation, just a token travel credit — as if all the time, stress, and hardship I endured meant nothing.
Avoid this airline, especially if you have connecting flights or expect reliable customer service when...
