Hot Palayok Restaurant & Grill, Madinat Zayed, Abudhabi — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

I’m not used to give a feedback to restaurants but I need to address this with my bad experience in this one first of all I went there to eat and try something new and once i reached there the restaurant was full of staff who saw me entering but it didn’t bother them and they just kept doing what they are doing and the music was so so so much loud to the point I couldn’t speak to be heard and once I approached one of them she just said we aren’t ready we are having a photo shoot for the food and the lunch time is over 5mins ago and she didn’t even offer us to stay or sit just left is there so I just decided to wait outside because of the music again was toooooo loud and I just waited sitting there for anyone to come and offer us a menu at least or tell us how is it gonna go and when time passed and no one came to attend i decided to go and ask for the reason and they just kept looking at me like i am asking for something crazy and kept speaking in their native language which is very rude knowing that I don’t understand them and the lady who’s working there started talking to my wife in her language ignoring me completely saying I already told her that lunch is over and we aren’t ready having a photo session right now which is very rude knowing that customers are sitting outside and waiting for someone to come and ask them if they want to order anything or even a drink at least and I gut really angry when during all of this they aren’t trying to lower the music at least no apology just kept on justifying themselves and I left angry and hungry and really disappointed for wasting time and money to visit this place which was a mistake to be honest and I don’t really recommend it at all cuz they are not...

Returned to Hot Palayok after several years of not having a taste.

Situated at the 3rd floor of one of the busiest shopping center in the capital, Madinat Zayed Shopping Center.

The ambience is still the same from the years back. You might find an acoustic singer on one of the nights playing 90’s to current top hits.

The place is spacious, with al fresco dining and a hall for private gatherings

Their buffet has 3 sections, the main course, grilling section and the dessert table. We had beef mechado, chicken paella, kare kare, steamed shrimp/crabs, grilled tuna, fettuccine carbonara 🤔 among the main dishes. We also had inasal for the grill section. Halo halo, palitaw, vegetable salad, ginataan for dessert.

Quite confused with the taste, almost all the main dishes are sweet from Mechado to Karekare. Beef in Mechado is quite chewy though. Pasta is spicy. The grilled inasal is obviously out of the cooler for a long time as we can smell the odd odor from the meat. Better check it first. Would recommend the finger foods, okoy, kwek kwek, but keep away from the chicken skin.

For the dessert, palitaw and ginataang munggo are must haves, since its not a usual dish that you can find anywhere.

Lastly, get that pitcher of iced tea!

Would recommend? For one time craving for Filipino food, maybe. For a routine buffet munch, there are better ones at the same price point. Better revisit their...

They are currently offering lunch buffet at 29 aed with a lot of variety for main course and dessert. From what I remember they have beef nilaga, pancit, kare kare, fried chicken, crabs and shrimp and you can aslo try to ask them to cook (i just forgot but they have a station for that). They also have sushi rolls. Not that good but its so-so.

For dessert they have kiwi cake, maja blanca, palitaw, buko pandan (and i think 2 more dessert. I just forgot.)

They also have different kinds of salad like kani salad, chicken salad (and i believe 2 more salads which I also forgot). For fruits they have watermelon and pineapple.

All of the above mentioned menu is included in the 29 aed buffet.

Street food at 1 aed each ( isaw.adidas.hotdog.chicken) Iced tea at 5 aed (bottomless fast refill)

Value for money 5 star.

Will definitely be back again. (2nd time with another set of friends.) The friends I brought here today said they will come back with their other friends because they were satisfied of the service.the food...
