Really enjoyed the Tavern Pub, went for pre-dinner drinks 5 nights out of 7. Didn't have any food. However, what we saw looked great. The only reason I've not given 5 stars is due to the lack of communication regarding what drinks were included in happy hour. For example, the menu stated 'white wine' was included in the happy hour deal, so I ordered a glass of sauvignon blanc, only to find out when I received the bill, sauvignon blanc wasn't included in the deal (even though it's white wine). The staff apologised and advised that they should have said when I ordered. They kindly agreed to reduce the cost due to the menu not being specific. If you're bothered by smoking, this bar may be an issue for you, but you can usually find a spot which is a little less smokey. Will definitely be visiting on our next stay...
Read moreI went in here for a drink with my wife after a long day on yas island. I ordered an imported premium German draught beer, this was 25 dirham for a pint. I then ordered a lime and lemon for my wife. I was presented with a glass and a 30ml can of sprite the charge for this was 31. 60 dirhams. Approximately £6.32 for a can of sprite! Absolutely ridiculous pricing. I told the barman I didn't want it and left. We walked 100 yards and bought 6 x 500ml bottles of sprite for 15 dirhams which really put their rip off price's into perspective. The next day we went to the Presidential Palace and even there it was only 15 dirhams for a 30ml sprite. The place itself is nice if you like numerous different sports loudly competing against each other. But please make sure you have a good overdraft set up before...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming English pub, and I must say, the experience was quite delightful overall. The ambiance was cozy and authentic, but there were a few things that stood out.
Let's start with the food—absolutely excellent! Each dish was cooked to perfection, with rich flavors and generous portions. We ordered nachos, tower sandwich, calamari and tempura.
However, the service did have a slight drawback. While the staff were friendly and attentive, the lighting in the pub was a bit dim. It added to the cozy atmosphere but could be improved for practicality.
Despite this small issue, I would highly recommend visiting this pub for its delicious food and authentic ambiance. It's a great spot to enjoy comforting dishes and soak in the old-world charm of an...
