An Evening to remember at 1920 Bar & Lounge, DIFC
Last nightâs visit to 1920 Bar & Lounge on the 52nd floor of Brookfield Place in DIFC was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment the signature red velvet curtains pulled back, we were transported into a world of elegance and smooth vibing Jazz. The soaring ceilings and breathtaking chandeliers create an ambience that is lavish yet inviting every inch of the space is designed to impress.
The evening unfolded to the smooth sounds of live jazz, setting the perfect tone for a night of refined indulgence. The tequila Old Fashioneds were exceptional crafted with care and depth, each sip was a masterclass in balance and flavor.
A special mention must go to Manager Mohamed, whose hospitality elevated the entire experience. His thoughtful gesture of sending over a selection of exquisite finger foods, curated by the chef to pair perfectly with our cocktails, was a beautiful touch.
Adding to the delight was the surprise of seeing my favourite mixologist, also named Mohamed (no confusionâthis oneâs the new floor manager), now part of the 1920 team. True to form, he went behind the bar himself to craft a round of tequila Old Fashioneds with his signature finesse. That personal touch made the evening even more memorable.
Impeccable service, world-class drinks, live jazz, and unbeatable views from the 52nd floor 1920 Bar & Lounge is truly a hidden gem in the sky. A destination worth returning to time...
Read morewhat can I say, the place is FANTASTIC, nice view, nice atmosphere, good live music. BUT treatment of the guest i don't know how to put it, its based on who you know, who are you ? we had reserved a table and was enjoying and ordering when the waitress came and said you need to leave? , as a major shock off course i replied we are not done yet eating and ordering. but she said that's our policy NO ONE is allowed for more than @ hr on a table. then she called the manager (an Egyptian young man) and when he found out who i was, obviously he was accommodating. so they started delaying our orders till we asked for the bill we were there for exactly 2 hr and 27 min .... when i asked for the bill it came in exactly 3 min (which was OVER AED 5k) while orders were taking 20 to 25 min. while leaving the young man kept following us to the elevators and asking us to stay he will arrange another table which off course i refused. one thing for sure, I will NEVER recommend anyone to get humiliated or undervalued due to race, spend or status to go to this place. shame what fake arrogance places have the department of tourism will definitely...
Read moreI had a confirmed reservation at 1920 and drove over an hour to dine there, dressed in formal UAE national attire â fully compliant with their stated âsmart casualâ dress code. Upon arrival, I was denied entry due to wearing national dress, a policy that was never disclosed on the website or during booking.
I was informed this was âinternal policy,â but no written dress code beyond âsmart casualâ was ever visible, and no notice was given. The inconsistency in enforcement, especially when national attire is a formal and culturally respected dress, left me feeling excluded and disrespected.
While we were offered a table at Il Gattopardo (same hospitality group), where we were welcomed warmly, the experience at 1920 was deeply disappointing and raises concerns regarding equal treatment and transparency.
I am sharing this respectfully and in good faith to alert others and encourage greater clarity and cultural inclusiveness.
