I went with my CEO to the Amazonico to enjoy a lunch on Friday May 3.
We took Business Lunch since apparently on weekdays this is the only one option available for Lunch (In no point we were offered to opt for A La Carte Menu) Despite of this, Business Lunch is wide enough with different options to enjoy (apparently)
We chose 1 Business Lunch with and 1 without dessert + still water + "Tostones de Papa"
The Papas (crushed baby potatos basically) were, honestly speaking , a nice portion, with good value for money (for this place) with an exquisite marigold sauce... delicious (sauce was perfect)
On the other hand, it catches my attention to not receive a single slice of complementary bread with the Business Lunch Menu that it is common practice in so many top restaurants in Dubai on their Business Lunch menus.
Our decision for Starter was 2 x Betroot Salad and very diligently Ms. Ivanna recommended us to go for 2 different dishes to try, which after we do appreciate, since both salads, especially the "Miso eggplant with quinoa"
But I have to say that you cannot sell as "Baby beetroot salad" a salad full of lettuces with almost no beetroot pieces inside.. (when you need a radar to find the baby beetroot you cannot call it as a "Beetroot salad") For a beetroot salad, chef should pass to The Restaurant at Address Dubai Mall Hotel (before Address Fountain Views) to see what a real beetroot salad is... (sorry to say)
For main course we chose Baby chicken "grilled" and Salmon Nikkei. Baby grilled chicken... allow me to doubt that it was grilled instead of cooked in the oven, since apart from the grill marks, cooking point, texture and taste indicates that either was cooked in an oven or it was not "very well done" as we requested (but on our minds, the oven has something to do about...)
Salmon Nikkei was nice despite cooking point was more than medium (as Ms Ivanna said that it was going to be done)
For the dessert we chose "Tres leches milk cake"... what can I say as Spaniard who loves the "Tres leches cake" to try a cake with no taste (or same taste as drinking a glass of water, as you prefer) is genuinely disappointing with the expectations we put on Amazonico... Thanks that Ms Ivanna offered us some chocolates to compensate our bad experience in the restaurant and in honor to the truth, were really tasty (a bit of shame to recognise that they were much tastier than the Tres Leches Milk Cake...) Sponge was not really dry, but almost... no sign of milk, no taste to condense milk (not even a bit...)
On this point (dessert) Dubai offers so many "home made" Tres Leches Milk Cake for me to start recommending when everyone knows so many places with different great examples you can enjoy i.e. in Dubai Mall...
Ms Ivanna was kind, professional and diligent (the only positive note of our experience, 4 stars for her instead of 5 for the overall experience)
I don't think we will come back here... in case I do, it will be to give a second chance to Ms Ivanna, because of her professionalism, despite the overall...

Amazonica offers one of the most vibrant and unique dining experiences in Dubai. The venue is spread across three levels: • The ground floor greets you with a dimly lit, energetic atmosphere featuring a bar, live music with a skilled drummer performing alongside the music, and a social area for drinks, smoking, and dancing. It’s ideal for those looking for a lively, interactive evening. • The second floor provides a calmer, more elegant setting for dinner, with beautifully arranged tables and uniquely designed plates featuring Amazonian animal motifs — adding a creative and cohesive aesthetic to the dining experience. • The third floor is an open-air terrace, which may be enjoyable during the cooler seasons. During our visit, it was closed due to the heat — and even if it had been open, it wouldn’t have been comfortable in such warm weather.
We were a group of four and tried the following dishes: • Tenderloin steak, which was well-cooked but had a milder flavor than expected. • Lamb shank, which was incredibly flavorful, with rich meat juices and a cooking style reminiscent of high-end Persian stews — comforting yet refined. • Rib-eye steak, which stood out as the highlight — perfectly cooked, tender, with just the right amount of fat. The flavor and texture were exceptional.
For dessert, we had the mango cheesecake. The flavor was light and pleasant, but it was not a traditional cheesecake. It had a soft, mousse-like texture, and was topped with a layer of cake crumbs (not mango powder), offering a unique and interesting twist. While not classic, it was still a delicious and memorable finish.
Appetizers and salads were served in relatively small portions, but the presentation was artistic and the flavors were well-balanced and distinctive.
Service was excellent: fast, attentive, and highly professional. Expect to spend around AED 400–500 per person for a full meal including starters, mains, dessert, and a drink. Valet parking is available and free for up to 3 hours (don’t forget to scan your card before exiting). Smoking is allowed on the ground floor only. Reservations are mandatory, and you will need to register a credit card. A AED 200 per person cancellation fee applies if you don’t show up or cancel late.
In summary, Amazonica is a sophisticated yet lively destination for those who appreciate quality dining, immersive ambiance, and a full evening experience. Ideal for both food lovers and those looking to enjoy music, energy, and great...
Read moreTraveling to Dubai we were recommended this place by a friend as the place to experience true Dubai Hospitality. Night starts on the cocktail rooftop with drinks flowing and then we move down to our reservation,
The meals were fine and we spent a large sum of money on the dinner and drinks (alcohol is not cheap in Dubai) there was some winner dishes for sure but some let downs that just seemed poor for the kind of place we were in. I would say 3/5 on the food.
Then the night really fell apart and its sad because the service had been so good up until this point. We went to move back up to the cocktail lounge to enjoy some more drinks and cigars that we had chosen, however either we didn't look like celebrities and apparently one of our members shoes were not up to scratch but that was strange because we had already been let in and seated a few hours earlier.
Then we were in a discussion with the bar manager, who quoted some dress code information that was sent via email (which I had not received because it was booked by our friend) but what was the best part was that the information only spoke about male dress code and not woman's and when argued he proceeded to make up some more rules around the time of night that we came and that since it was now (busy time) they couldn't let us in. So basically we helped them fill out the bar and then when they didn't need us they kicked us to touch.
The staff from our dinner table even knew we were heading back up stairs and they could have said something to us prior about us not getting back in due to one of the persons dress.
I feel like its prejudice and that they wanted to keep the rooftop for people that spend $50,000+ AED on Dom Pérignon, even though the guy told me its not about the money (yeah right).
There has got to be a better place to spend your money at this supposed level of hospitality on, Dubai's hospitality market is competitive.
Thanks for the terrible service Amazonico.
