Popped in on a Tuesday night with a few friends. It was 'unlimited' night where the french fries and dessert (profiteroles) were unlimited.
We ordered a couple of Wagyu and three normal steaks (five of us eating).
We started off with a nice fresh salad that came as part of the meal with a zesty and lively citrus dressing.
The concept here is that they place a metal tray with the steak pre-sliced into easy to pick-with-fork on top of small table top burners and you eat at your leisure. The table top burners are supposed to -you guessed it- keep your steak warm! ..Though in our case they were not lit for whatever reason.
Anyhow, have to say that the buttery herb sauce that the steak came surrounded in was excellent; the magic sauce that made everything work. Slightly tangy (maybe a bit of lemon and sourcream mixed with the butter and garlic herbs?) and very flavourful. The steak itself was slightly chewy (I ordered mine medium well) which isn't supposed to be the case when you pay approx 200 upwards for a steak though this was forgiven in the overall taste experience.
What was not up to par was the Wagyu steaks my neighbours had (costing almost double mine ) but being a bit tough and effectively meaning they might as well have paid for the cheaper cut (though he ordered his medium rare). Also the fifth member in our dining party was for some unexplained reason given the buttery sauce on the side which meant her steak did not have the benefit of being as well marinated in the saucy sauce as ours were.
Fries were good though, a semi crunchy texture, thinner than normal French fries but thicker than shoestring fries.
I wasn't sure whether I wanted the profiteroles for dessert since I am generally not a big fan of these. So I tried to order a gelato from the gelato guy but he said it was takeaway only which I found quite bizarre as it was being sold in the same restaurant. Our waitress saw this and offered to serve it to our table though by this time the profiteroles had arrived so I wasn't too fussed especially after the slightly annoying initial attempt to procure a scoop.
Profiteroles after meal were above expectation - came with vanilla ice cream in the center, a bit of candy caramel on top, set against a dark chocolate sauce base. These weren't too soft and had a good semi-firm texture. Guess its good I didn't get the gelato after all.
Overall a decent meal experience but at that price point you might as well go to a proper steakhouse where your wagyus should turn out per expectation and also minus the...
Read moreIf you're looking for a classic Parisian bistro experience with a focus on perfectly cooked steak and an iconic secret sauce, L'Entrecôte de Paris is a must-visit. Known for its simple yet indulgent menu, this restaurant delivers a dining experience that feels both timeless and satisfying.
Food (5/5) The star of the show is undoubtedly the entrecôte steak (rib-eye), served with their famous secret sauce—a rich, buttery, herb-infused delight that elevates the tender, juicy steak to another level. The meal follows a traditional French format: a fresh walnut salad starter, followed by unlimited steak frites (thin, crispy fries) served in two portions to ensure everything stays hot. There are no menu choices for the main—just steak done exactly how you like it, which keeps the experience focused and authentic.
Ambiance (4.5/5) The restaurant captures the charm of a Parisian bistro with its cozy, bustling atmosphere, checkered tablecloths, and vintage decor. The service is efficient and friendly, though it can get quite busy, so expect a lively vibe rather than a quiet, intimate setting.
Service (4/5) The staff is attentive and professional, keeping the famous "second serving" of steak and fries coming without delay. Reservations are highly recommended, as the restaurant is popular and often has a queue.
Value (4.5/5) While not the cheapest steakhouse in town, the quality of the meat, the generous portions (including unlimited fries), and the unique sauce make it worth the price. It’s a great spot for a special occasion or when you’re craving a taste of Paris.
Final Verdict: 9/10 L'Entrecôte de Paris offers a no-fuss, high-quality French dining experience centered around an exceptional steak frites. If you love steak and appreciate a well-executed classic, this restaurant won’t disappoint. Just be sure to save room for their delicious profiteroles or crème brûlée...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant with a rich history, having been in operation since 1930, and I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that they take pride in both the food and the overall dining experience. The dish I ordered was cooked to perfection specifically, the medium-well steak, which was absolutely gorgeous. The texture was spot-on, tender, and flavorful, showcasing the kitchen’s skill and attention to detail.
Equally impressive was the service. The staff was not only attentive but also exuded a sense of professionalism and care that is rare to find. Every need was anticipated before I even had to ask, and the pace of the meal was flawless, allowing for a relaxed yet efficient dining experience. It was clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the Crème Brûlée. It was exquisite, a perfect balance of creamy richness and a satisfyingly crisp sugar crust. This dessert alone is worth a visit to the restaurant.
With over 90 years of experience, it's evident this restaurant has perfected its craft, and there’s no room for error. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking an exceptional meal in a historic setting. Whether it's a special occasion or just a desire for top-tier cuisine, this restaurant delivers on...
