I visited Karaz Restaurants with my cousins on February 27th, 2025. This was actually our second day in a row dining there because we truly enjoyed the service, the food, and especially the quality of the shisha. We were genuinely impressed by the overall vibe and hospitality—until the very end of our visit.
When it came time to settle the bill, which was AED 235, we handed over our card for payment. The transaction went through, and we even received a confirmation text message from our bank, confirming that the payment was successful. However, about two minutes later, the waiter returned saying that while the transaction had gone through on our side, it wasn’t showing up in their system. He requested that we pay in cash in order to close the tab.
When we asked what would happen if the original card payment did eventually show up, he assured us, "Don’t worry, you can trust my words, we will refund it." Trusting his word and wanting to avoid any hassle, we paid the full amount again in cash.
Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. It has now been five months, and we have not received any refund or follow-up from the restaurant. We still have the text message proof, along with transaction evidence showing that the initial card payment went through. I plan to include that attachment with this review.
While the restaurant itself provides a great atmosphere and quality shisha, I urge everyone to be cautious when making payments. We decided to order the beef burgers from the kids’ menu, but right from the start, we were met with a strong, off-putting smell that made us question the quality of the food. To make matters worse, the bun had a hard patch that resembled a rock—definitely not what you want in a burger. When we politely asked the waiter to return the meal, he insisted that it was normal and refused to accommodate our request. This lack of customer service only added to our frustration. And after my friend was upset he took the burger and we cancelled the order.
Thinking we’d have better luck with the chicken burgers, we placed another order, only to receive chicken nuggets instead. It seemed like a simple mix-up, but it further contributed to our disappointment.
To top it all off, we also ordered Mansaf, which was dry and unappetizing, as if the rice had been cooked weeks prior.
Overall, the dining experience was far from enjoyable.
