Grand ZOR - Fairmont The Palm - Uzbek Fusion Restaurant — Restaurant in Dubai

I am absolutely shocked and deeply disappointed by the experience I had at this restaurant, which I had been excited to try for the first time.

We simply asked the waiter if he could politely ask two young women at the next table to lower their voices, as their shouting had become unbearable. What followed was truly unacceptable: • One of the women responded to the waiter in Russian with an extremely vulgar insult. • She then turned to us aggressively while her friend started filming us, laughing. • They shouted numerous insults at us and one of them even threw a cushion twice at my friend in an act of pure aggression. • Worst of all, they screamed at us to “go back to war in Ukraine,” a vile and racist remark that has no place in any public setting.

What was even more appalling is how the staff handled the situation. Several waiters admitted to us that these women are regulars and are known for their outrageous behavior, yet no firm action was taken. Instead, the manager asked us to go downstairs while those women — visibly drunk — were allowed to remain and continued being served alcohol. The manager even had the nerve to tell us that, after “listening to them,” they “seemed to be right.”

Let me be clear: I do not come to a restaurant to hear loud, graphic conversations about random sexual partners, nor do I expect to be insulted, filmed, or physically attacked. And I certainly do not accept being the target of racist comments related to an ongoing war that has deeply affected millions.

This restaurant made a clear choice to protect abusive, aggressive, and racist individuals rather than its other guests. No action was taken against them — simply because they’re known regulars. That is not only irresponsible, but dangerous.

This was my first time here, and it will absolutely be the last. I strongly advise others to avoid this place if you value respect, safety, and basic...

I had passed by ZOR many times without checking it out. But last week, as we wanted something different, we chose ZOR for our dinner. The location was on the second floor of The Pointe in Palm Jumeirah with the view of the dancing fountains. As the second floor seating part sticks out of the building (which makes for an amazing view), you do get a bit of mist when the fountain show starts, but this was somewhat welcoming as we were hot sitting outside.

Now to the food.... Everything was amazingly fresh. The pickled plate was more of a salted pickles version and the variety was very refreshing.

The lamb on ALL our dishes melted in our mouth, VERY flavorful and tender (can not say 'tender" enough times as it just melted on the fork).

Their round traditional bread was so yummy that I got some extra to take home and have w/ my breakfast (even better the next day with cheese and jam).

But the best part for me was their Sheesha (hookah). Probably THE BEST Sheesha I have had in Dubai. It was a bit more pricy than the place next door, but it was the most smooth clean smoke I have ever had. So, if you don't drink, and are not fond of lamb, I would still recommend this place for their amazing Shessha. But to miss out on their food is a shame. So give it a good try, it will be well worth it.

Overall, this place meet all my culinary needs with a great view and an amazing smoke. P. S. Our waiter, the African gentleman, gave us the best service, always checking on us and making sure our experience was the best it can be. Sadly, I did not write his name down and now have forgotten it, but a good review of him needs to...

She managed to strike the perfect balance between being attentive and allowing us the space to savor our meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Ms. Ogiloy's knowledge of the menu and her recommendations were invaluable, adding to the overall experience.

Grand ZOR has clearly established itself as a premier dining destination, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to dine at your restaurant.
