Read moreIt appears only after visiting that it is not public beach. Parking is paid parking after 2 hrs. There is no clear signs on what is what in the beach. There are no written rules saying that this is for residents and if you use beach you have to pay restaurants and rent a sunbed. We came here and didnt see anything pointing that this is the case. We put on beach close to the sea our own umbrella. After spending there nice 40 mins securith approached as us, said that it is not a PUBLIC BEACH and we cannot put our baby stroller and umbrella here. We have to be either resident in the buildings or pay to a restaurant and use their sunbeds. I asked him if there was any written rules we could see, they said there is none. That is what Nakheel told them. I would not mind if I knew this in advance, like someone told us in the entrance or with some rules board in the entrance. It is pretty annoying when you are already settled and told that you cant do it after 40 mins. When you come with car first parking sign to west beach will direct you the one on the opposite side of the road. There are no signs that there is also parking right next to the beach. We ended up parking on opposite side and then walk 30 mins to other side and cross road. There should be a sign indicating west beach parking. Instead they put west beach parking sign to parking area on opposite side which confuses you when you are first time here. Beach is itself has pretty much no sand. It is all too much stones. Restaurants where you can rent sunbed and eat are opening at 10 am. Service in these restaurants are terrible. It takes them 30 mins to get one smoked salmon bagel ready. Iced americano- needs 20 mins. And guess what, this is when restaurant (Koko Bay) was emtpy. You will stay hungry on busy times. Will never...

I can't believe a place like this exists. So, the beach is unusable (and I mean unusable--the security will kick you off) for anyone not at a restaurant. Ok, I understand---the restaurants have to make their money for keeping the beach clean... so, we go to the restaurant. However, the some of the restaurants do not open until 12--if this is the case, you will be kicked off the beach until they open even if you tell them that you are actually waiting for the restaurant to open (get there first thing to avoid long a long wait). They will kick you and your small children off of an empty beach! So we then go to another restaurant (as informed by the security). The wait is now over an hour (not ideal with small kids), but at least we are told by wait staff you can wait on the beach. However, security then comes over and kicks us off AGAIN!!!! Yes, again. We inform them that we are waiting for our table, but they said again not allowed. There were about six people on the beach at this time (not rammed or overrun). It is not a beach for enjoying or relaxing--I don't know what management is thinking and how/why they are training security in this way, but there are so many better places to spend your money and time in Dubai. The beach is clean and could be nice (just nice, there are no amenities like chairs or umbrellas), but don't bother. Go to La Mer beach--superior. Even super-crowded JBR beach feels more welcoming and inviting. Black Palace beach (no amenities) feels more accepting and community-oriented. Even the Pointe feels better. But, this beach? I don't know what...
