Indulging in the culinary marvels of the Persian cuisine at this modern haven was nothing short of a gastronomic journey. The lamb neck epitomizing tradition with a contemporary twist, left an indelible mark on my taste buds. The tender lamb neck exuded rich flavors, a sublime fusion of tradition and modernity.
A standout among the culinary treasures is the Iranish kebab, where tradition meets innovation. Chef Farshid's meticulous approach is apparent as the kebab is not just grilled but smoked to perfection, infusing an extra layer of depth and smokiness that elevates the dish to a sublime level. The result is a sensory journey that captivates the palate and leaves a lasting impression.

Read moreIt’s a rare occasion that a recommendation by my friend Reza - the Oracle of Persian Eats - will be anything other than exceptional.
However… from the moment we walked in (a couple) and asked for a 4-seater in a restaurant that was barely 20% occupied, we were asked brusquely - and repeatedly - to take a 2-seater in the middle of the restaurant.
After insisting, and taking our spot at a 4-seater of our choosing, the waiter made a point of shifting the second table by 5cm, in order to distinguish that we were now on our own table.
We could see where this was going…
Our waitress came to take our order, and as we asked about the specials, she seemed not to be familiar with them, and asked us to order from the menu. We ordered two simple starters (Mast o Mousir and Kashk e Baaemjan) and the Looti Polo.
With starters on hand, both well executed, we found ourselves waiting for our main. As the table on one side (a couple on a four-seater) left, a couple came to occupy the other four-seater, and were greeted with the fanfare of old friends by either the floor manager (or owner) with about 10 minutes of boisterous Persian “taroof” which made for some light entertainment.
But once their mains arrived - the very same Looti Polo we had been waiting on for over 20 minutes - served with the fanfare such a dish is usually accompanied by, I joked and said they must have received ours and that we will receive theirs… The waiters, overhearing this, scrambled in hushed tones.
My +1 pressed one of the waiters, only to confirm that the order for our Looti Polo had never been placed… The look on my +1’s face said it all, and having been on the receiving-end of that look once or twice before, I knew what was coming.
She politely (and firmly) requested the bill for what we had had, we paid, and she walked right out. I had a few words with a poor gentleman with the resigned look of somebody who had already heard what I told him once or twice before…
For a place that came so highly recommended, and with such promise, my +1 took pity and suggested we get McD’s Cheeseburgers on the way...
Read moreHeard a lot about this place so decided to visit. Positive points first. Food is good, meat quality is great and the prices are competitive, decor is not bad. However problem with any oriental cuisine is that it works like a complete set. If one or more ancillary items are off, it doesn’t complement other good things. For example we were served cold bread to start with and we had to ask for fresh and hot one. Second more important thing is the sumak. You can view the picture of the pot which has some kind of spice powder which the restaurant claims as sumak. We had a Persian lady sitting right next to our table and she was also surprised on this explanation and commented that sumak is bright red colour and taste more sour but the restaurant insisted that this is Irani sumak- nah- sorry. Third the rice used was not up to mark quality wise. It didn’t tasted as fluffy and absorbing as chullo tastes with kababs. Fourth, no butter was served. When asked they provided some type of oil. We had to ask for butter which is a main ingredient of chullo kabab. Since the rice was not up to mark, it didn’t absorbed butter as it should be. Fifth, it was Monday and the place was decently busy however not that busy that we were getting things so quickly as management has a KPI of turning tables with 39 minutes. We were sitting having our tea when the waiter after picking dishes, started cleaning table to make it ready for next guests - who were never there. Sixth, nobody during entire meal came once to ask us whether we liked food is everything ok? Felt like eating in cafeteria. If it would not for good quality meat, good prices and complimentary tea, it would be...
