So we arrived there as a walk-in. Iāve previously seen the place in some IG stories of my friends, but I didnāt know exactly where it was located. Iāve seen this place by mistake and decided to go in as a āwalk-in guestā. Once I arrived at the entrance, I mentioned to the hostess that we donāt have a reservation (me with a +1), so she said we can sit at the bar counter and order the drinks there. Sure, no problem, I said. We arrived at the bar. The place is tiny, it wants to be sort of NYC Jazz bar, but just sort of, because the overall vibe is questionable. So we arrived at the bar which was 2-3m in length and it was already busy with 4 seats aka 2 couples. We stayed there in front of the bar and nobody assisted. We decided to request the menu. Three times. The 3rd time was the lucky one. We ordered a premium gin brand + tonic and a glass of Prosecco. I have been told there is not available Prosecco by the glass (despite that it was available on the menu and someone else had it on their table). Sure, no problem, I said. Letās have a glass of champagne then. The bartender seemed surprised to choose champagne rather than Prosecco, but itās ok. After 10 minutes she (the bartender) opened the bottle of champagne, which popped to the ceiling and made so many bubbles that poured out of the glass bottle, it seemed like a beginner in champagne sabering. Sure, no problem, it killed the bubbles and the overall charm of the champagne, but what could I do š¤·š¼āāļø We received the beverages on the bar counter which was already full and there was no room for our beverages. One of the waiters decided to put our beverages on the corner of the bar, very close to behind a guest. I guess this is the real treatment that you receive when you order premium beverages. Nobody has ever bothered to tell me which champagne I was drinking or what they decided to pour, it could have been any brand or any type, a sweet or a dry one, but nobody seemed interested to check the customerās opinion before pouring it. I ordered a small bottle of water from the lady bartender she shared it in 2 glasses. There was still leftover water in the bottle, but she decided to take it from the top bar counter, and I thought the reason was because of being so crowded on the bar. Actually no, she decided to take the bottle and thatās it. I finished the first glass of water and I asked to fill the glass with the leftover water from the bottle when she said that she didnāt know where was our bottle. No problem, she opened a new small bottle of 500ml and poured it into our glasses. After 10 minutes we asked for the bill. Surprise-surprise: 304AED for a single gin with tonic & a glass of champagne + she charged for 2 bottles of water. No problem, we can pay for it, but itās not fair to play with peopleās money. Also, I hope you know that itās more important to retain a customer rather than getting a new one. We will return for the sake of checking the service once again. Thanks P.S. The entire music performance was disturbed by mixing up the cocktails with ice and doing some very loud activities behind the bar which overall killed the vibe...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAt the beginning of June, I celebrated my anniversary here with my girls. We booked a table by chance, at the very last moment, because another jazz restaurant had cancelled a music programme. We wanted to listen to live jazz. First we listened to Ryan Gibb, a pianist and vocalist with an amazing voice, and then a very inspiring jazz quartet came along with their programme. We brought our cake with us and asked for it to be brought out later, the staff offered me two time options to choose from, then the music came on and at the agreed time the staff lit the candles after midnight and brought out the cake to congratulate me. Everyone clapped their hands and congratulated, it was lovely, thank you all! The musicians after the congratulations still had me actively involved in the music and congratulations many more times. I really liked the cosy, family atmosphere, where there are few tables and everything is so hearty (thank you to the staff and all the performers on stage that evening), there was not a single free table during the whole evening, because the musicians did their work from the heart at 200%. There is a choice of snacks, tasty, but the dishes are a bit small, but you should not come here to eat, but to feel the atmosphere, which my girls and I managed to do. I am satisfied, my girls were satisfied too. Service at a high level, the girls of the staff in suits or black dresses, visually beautiful and the staff and the atmosphere (room design). By the way, in the photo the atmosphere of the room is not conveyed as well as in life. I was particularly impressed with the cocktail menu book: there's a different storytelling about each cocktail. The marketers and owners have done their best, you can see that. Tip and service immediately include in the cheque, greeting, goodbye, everything is excellent, liked everything, for lovers of jazz, live music and aesthetics, I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA huge disappointment and a total rip-off for me. For some reason I decided to book the table in advance - please never do that. A minimal spend of 250 dirhams per person was applied straight away . When we got inside on Monday night there were just three tables with visitors (not the ones living here ) including us . The food is terrible - really cheap and bad quality cheese and dried veal - absolutely not delicious and too salty - the crackers were impossible to eat either . And it all costs a fortune , as the taxes are not included in the prices on the menu . Moreover, I had a terrible headache from the only glass of rose that I ordered - I am not sure that this was the normal wine . We also ordered 2 bottles of wine and ended up with 800 dirham bill - for something that you would buy in a supermarket for 50 dirhams at the most . I was terribly hungry and I just could not eat anything from it . The place does not have a toilet - for that you need to go to the business centre and make quite a way down . It is tiny and people smoke there - when everyone started arriving after 21-30(which means that they did not have to pay the minimal spend as we did ) they started smoking cigars and cigarettes and it was impossible to stay. This smoking thing is definitely going back to the 1990-s, just like the pianist singing too loud in the same manner in the mic (and they donāt even have a mechanic piano for an entourage , only electric one ) pop songs , so that after two or three songs the head starts aching terribly . I am a bit jazz lover and I have been to various places all over the world - this is not jazz and not the venue where you could at least to eat or drink without damaging...
