Karaf by Bahce - The Palm — Restaurant in Dubai

Unfortunately, this place did not meet my expectations and I do not think that it deserves what it is charging. It charges the price of a best kebab restaurant, which, I believe, it is not. Let me start with the positive side: the atmosphere is great, you sit next to the sea, enjoy the open air and Turkish music. Service is okayish, not terrible, but definitely not one of the good services you would get in Dubai. To give an example, our hot starter (kibbeh) and our main dish (Adana kebab) came almost at the same time. At the time, we managed to start eating Adana kebab, it was there on the table for more than 7-8 minutes. Although we did not finish our Adana Kebab, because we did not like it, no one asked whether there is anything wrong with it. With respect to the food, except the two yogurt based cold starters, we were not satisfied with what we ate. The meat in Adana was simply not for our taste. Shashlik was not juicy...

My wife & I picked the restaurant based on its excellent rating here on google.

A shame therefore to not have the same experience as others.

I wasn’t 100% happy with the service. We asked for a table & a lady, who didn’t smile, took my wife’s phone number whilst writing her name wrong.

Our server was very smiley which is great but it’s hard to fully enjoy a meal when the language barrier is evident. If so many English tourists visit then it would be ideal if staff could converse well with the customers.

The food was okay. Not great but not terrible.

The biggest issue was the music. Next door had a live singer, the other side has their music & Karaf just plow ahead by turning up their music to try & drown out the others.

Not a relaxing experience.

I spent $500 at this place. I went to the restaurant at 10:45 PM. They seated us, served the starters, and then 20 minutes later announced that the kitchen was already closed and no hot food would be served. This is absolutely ridiculous and shows zero respect for customers.

If you can’t serve dinner, don’t let people in. When I asked what to have with my raki, they didn’t even bother to answer. The staff were careless, unprofessional, and rude.

This is the second time I’ve had such a terrible experience here. Never coming back. A complete waste of...
