La Farine — Restaurant in Dubai

I would like to express my disappointment regarding a recent experience at your restaurant.

During our dinner, we were informed by the staff that pastries were available at a 50% discount. Based on this information, we ordered pastries expecting the discount to be applied. However, when it was time to pay, I mentioned that we had the Emirates Platinum discount at which point we were told that only one discount could be applied.

We completely understand that discounts cannot be combined. That said, I requested that the bill be split separating the pastry order onto a different bill so that we could apply the 50% discount to that portion alone. Unfortunately, the waiter told us that this was not possible and insisted we proceed with paying the full amount, without making any effort to accommodate or resolve the situation.

In the end, we were misled into believing we would receive a 50% discount on pastries, only to be charged full price. This was both frustrating and disappointing. If the discount policy had been clearly communicated from the beginning or if the staff had been willing to split the bill as requested this situation could have been avoided.

We hope you take this feedback seriously and ensure that promotions are clearly explained and honored in good faith...

I dined at La Farine twice during my stay at the JW, once with my husband and another couple for dinner, and again with my friend for breakfast, and both meals were excellent! The nightlight at dinner was the roasted parsnip hummus with toasted sourdough that we had as an appetiser, so yummy! And also the desserts, all three were super tasty, especially the hazelnut tart which had a slightly salty kick, and I loved that there were also mini options (strawberry choux and dulcey pistachio roulade) so we could try more of them. The service at dinner was excellent, with special mention to our main server Sara who was friendly and attentive and when we asked for split bills, was able to recall who ordered what and split it accordingly for us. Very impressive!

Breakfast the next morning was even better, when I had quite possibly the best Bircher muesli I’ve ever tried. It was amazingly good! Creamy and flavourful, with fresh berries and even fresh honeycomb on top. So yum. Just as divine were the little date cakes served with every coffee and tea order; they were so good I went back later that afternoon and ordered a pot of tea just to get another one!

Really a great cafe, far better than what you’d expect in a hotel and worth a visit even for people who are not...

We have been going to La Farine since it opened. Everyone’s favorite item was the Mac and cheese and they have removed it from the menu. When we arrived at the restaurant they moved us to 4 different tables before we could sit down. We ordered drinks and then asked for some bread. They said we couldn’t have any bread until after we ordered food. This was never the case in the past. We then ordered food and asked again can we please have some bread. They still didn’t bring any bread. It took 4 more request to get the bread and when it arrived it was frozen in the middle. Not the usual fresh made bread that they use to make. Service was really poor and the waiter rolled his eye when we asked for ice for our water. Overall the service and food was poor quality. This use to be one of our favorite restaurants, it has now been taken...
