Salmontini Le Bistro — Restaurant in Dubai

I discovered Salmontini after doing a google search for Japanese sushi buffets in Dubai. This place came up with high ratings and was close to home so i decided to check it out.

Japanese and sushi restaurants tend to self-proclaim as 'premium' in Dubai which always scares my wallet! And all-you-can-eat usually means low quality.

This is not the case at Salmontini - AED139 for as much sushi you can eat from 3pm to 9.30pm, the sushi was super fresh and tasty, there was lots of choice and the team there were very friendly and helpful with suggestions. The price included miso and endamame which was a nice surprise. The restaurant is clean, bright and welcoming with an outdoors balcony view which would be ideal in the cooler months, and it's just upstairs from Gate Avenue shopping.

Sushi is not the only thing they do and they have an extensive menu of other amazing salmon...

The place is good for a quiet lunch on a weekend. It becomes packed during the weekdays. They offer a good business lunch deal. Had been to one before and the portions are sizeable at least to me. One can also have a decent convo as the volume of the music was moderate. All day sushi experience was wonderful. I like the consistency of the miso soup and that it had generous serving of tofu and seaweeds. Really packed. Volcano Maki was a wonderful surprise. It's burst of flavor in the mouth was interesting. I like the texture. . The salmon kaware was very good. The cruchiness of the salmon skin was just right, not overwhelming.

Hamachi Maki and Kani maki rice was a little undone. Katsuoboshi is ok, but not much of a fan, however the balance was good.

Salmontini is the best place for us to have sushi since more than 8 years. We tried this branch for the first time we chose the open sushi formula all you can eat. The first thing is they bring you small plates half portion from everything you order which is fine. The surprise was the fish wasn’t fresh if had very strong smell. The tuna was so dark as you can see in the photo we informed the manager he said oh I will make sure to tell your feedback to the chef. That’s it. And we ordered the cheese cake as he recommended it to receive it also not fresh and it was really really bad we asked for the bill and left. Even we told the waitress about the cheese cake she said oh sorry you didn’t like it. The place location and decoration are really nice it’s so bad the the food is not Salmontini it was like any food...
