Had a business lunch with some friends from London. Firstly, their staff was very pleasant and helpful, explaining the entire menu and assisting us in choosing the right dishes.

We opted for Roasted Pumpkin Risotto, featuring Carnaroli rice with roasted pumpkin, 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano, hazelnut-infused olive oil, rocket, and lemon pangrattato; Braised Short Rib Cannelloni, which consisted of baked homemade pasta filled with braised short rib and veal, Italian four-cheese, pomodoro sauce, and finished with Parmigiano Reggiano; Black Truffle Cameroni, made with bronze-cut pasta and a creamy summer black truffle sauce alongside sautéed king mushrooms; Grilled Salmon & Quinoa, offering a light quinoa risotto with grilled salmon, asparagus, peas, zucchini, and a lemon zaatar sauce; and Moroccan Wagyu Meatballs, featuring prime wagyu beef meatballs with dates, pinenuts, saffron couscous, spiced tomato sauce, and Greek yoghurt.

The food is fine, but the staff is generally rude. I’m unsure whether it’s lack of training or they simply don’t have the cultural awareness to understand what good service is. I was trying to scan the QR code for the membership app and the server kept moving it away so I cannot scan even through I told her twice that I’m trying to join and asked her to not move things around on my table. This was way before I ordered so no need to make room for my food or anything. When I left, I paid with an international card and even though the instructions are to hand the card machine to the customer she completely ignored it and chose the wrong currency which means I essentially pay more. These might seem minor issues, but signal a complete disregard to the customer, especially in the heart of the financial centre where you’d think they’re accustomed to...

Everytime I place order from bateel DIFC they never bother to follow instructions, I clearly wrote don’t send me dry pasta I want with a lot of sauce they keep sending dry all the time I don’t have time to call & complain today I did they said they will send another one after 2 hours I called customer care CLINTON, who says he’s the manager was talking with a horrible attitude yes what u want, and I spoke with a manager she said they followed the instructions if u don’t like why u order from us no need etc, I told him are u sure ur the manager ur junior is more professional and has more etiquette how to speak ur not the owner of the restaurant to tell me from where to order this is uae u should respect people he kept yelling i hang...
