The Lighthouse Cafe & Concept Store, Palm Jumeirah Mall — Restaurant in Dubai

I met a friend last Sunday at Nakheel Mall. After dinner, we wanted to smoke, so we walked over to The Lighthouse to sit on their outdoor terrace. I ordered an Americano, she had a pot of tea. I didn’t check prices, just wanted a chill spot. Coffee tasted okay, nothing to write home about. What annoyed me is that the cup was only two-thirds full. I didn’t order milk on the side, I didn’t order any extras just a smiple black coffee. Why is the cup so empty?

Went again on Thursday to meet the same friend. Same routine, same order. Walked through the cute little shop inside the Lighthouse with all the random items on display. Sat outside again even though it was crazy hot. The waiter tried hard to convince us to sit inside with the AC but stayed professional. Same Americano. Same problem. Big cup, small amount. But this time I checked the price 32 dirhams 😳 That’s not cheap. If they’re going to serve that little coffee in the cup, why not use a smaller cup? Or just fill the cup?

My friend ordered a berry hibiscus tea for 35 dirhams. I didn’t taste it and forgot to ask how it was, looked fine though 🙂 When I walked inside the restaurant heading to the terrace the dishes on the tables looked interesting. On the terrace both times the music was too loud for me, we had to change tables to sit as far as possible from the speakers.

The service both times was honestly great. Super friendly and funny staff. One even helped me navigate their iPad menu to find drinks. I just wish the coffee matched the price. Still undecided if I’ll go again. Maybe to...

I normally go to the lighthouse Nakheel mall as it is cross the street of our house and my son can sue for their pizza. We have been away for a long time and the team has change! What a mess! The restaurant is empty ( Ramadan) their is 4 waiters, 1 outside and 3 inside! How in the world 2 need to attend 1 customer while we were sitting waiting for someone to take our order! Need to call 2 times and they dare to tell me to wait because two of the waiters are at the cashier to attend 1 customer! Once one of them decided to come to see me because I insisted! I know the menu by heart! I gave my order and specify to the waitress to bring bread and hummus as we are very hungry! Nooo she went to continue attend the same customer that her colleague was alredy doing!guess what I left! Can not stand this disrespect! We wanted a pizza and a truffle pasta! Well I hope that the 2 pastries and 2 Oman chips bags were worth it! Before the service was way better! We were feeling home!
