Being an Indian, I was really excited to visit Chaiiwala in Aberdeen, and it certainly didn’t disappoint! The moment I stepped in, the vibe instantly took me back to the bustling chai tapris (tea stalls) of India. The ambiance is modern, yet it has subtle hints of traditional Indian elements which makes it feel homely and authentic.
Food: The selection is fantastic, especially for someone who craves desi snacks and chai. I tried their karak chai and masala chai, both of which were rich, aromatic, and brewed to perfection – just like how you’d get it back home in India. The samosas were crispy, served with chutneys that were tangy and spicy. Their parathas were just as we Indians like it, stuffed and flavorful, bringing the warmth of a home-cooked meal.
Price: The prices are reasonable considering the authenticity and taste. For someone from India, the cost might seem a bit on the higher side, but the quality and experience make it worth every penny.
Service: The staff were friendly and attentive, and they were happy to explain the menu to anyone unfamiliar with Indian street food. The service was prompt, and the food came out fresh and hot.
Overall Experience: If you’re an Indian living in Aberdeen or just someone who loves Indian street food, Chaiiwala is a must-visit. It feels like a small piece of India, and their chai will remind you of the heartwarming cups enjoyed with friends and...
Read moreI’ve been a regular customer at various Chaiwala locations, frequently visiting the Glasgow branch. However, I recently visited the Aberdeen store and noticed a few differences.
While the taste of the food remains consistent with other Chaiwala outlets, the portion sizes at the Aberdeen location seem noticeably smaller. For example, the chana bowl here is significantly smaller than what I usually get in Glasgow. I’m unsure if this is a new trend across all Chaiwala branches or specific to Aberdeen, but it is something worth addressing.
Additionally, the Aberdeen store is not yet listed on the official Chaiwala app, which could be inconvenient for customers trying to locate or order from this branch.
On a positive note, the service at the Aberdeen location is excellent, and the overall taste of the food, including the Karak chai, is up to the usual standard. However, I found the taste of the pink chai to be less satisfying compared to other locations.
Overall, while the quality and service are good, I would appreciate larger portion sizes and the inclusion of this branch on the Chaiwala app.
