I couldn’t have been more disappointed tonight. I had booked a table at 8pm to celebrate my Birthday with my friends. We were having a great time until at 9:40pm the waitress plonked the bill on the table for us to pay “as soon as possible”. I’m my confusion I asked if it was closing time, but I was told that there was another booking, we had to leave, and the bill was waiting for us to pay. We were rushed out of the bar (which I had hoped to spend more time in) after we had spent a substantial amount of money on food and bottles of wine. I had hoped we would be able to enjoy the rest of our evening in grape and grain but we were rushed out as though we weren’t welcome. It is important to note that the group sitting to our left and right (in the booths) were there before us and were permitted to stay after us too - the set amount of time didn’t seem to apply to them! Obviously their custom was appreciated but ours was not. For whatever reason I was made to feel that my custom was substandard to all of the other patrons in the bar that evening. To be perfectly honest it was rude and disrespectful (especially considering the next guests that had booked our booth didn’t seem to appear!). Usually I do not leave reviews, but felt it was important to leave this review as I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED and will not be returning to...
Read moreWe stopped in for afternoon drinks on a Saturday. All the tables were reserved so it was a bit of a treasure hunt to find one that would be available, some tables were marked reserved for 19:30 and it was only 15:30 when we arrived. It gave off an unwelcoming impression. I would suggest leaving some tables open for walk in customers and not mark the entire place as reserved. We were also a little displeased that the menus of gins (all £6.00 each) didn't include the price for tonic/mixer. We had assumed with a higher price it had included tonic and were a little taken back when the bill arrived with an extra couple pounds for each drink. The wine selection was uninspiring for a place like this. Selection of gins, vodkas, rums, and whiskey's was nice and there were loads of UK producers on the list (including beers) so that was a bonus. Some of the servers were new, lacking confidence, and unfamiliar with the menu. We probably won't go back again for a quick drink but might consider reserving a table for a...
Read moreSecond time being back there, first time they got the wrong drinks twice then we gave up. Yeah it's nice, yeah it's fancy, yeah it's expensive, it's exactly what you want for your Instagram feed... But there is a constant pressure to buy something, waiters always popping up to see if you want to order more even if you haven't finished your drink. We had no reservation and we saw a booth empty we said we want to stay there, took a lot of back and forth with the waiter to go and check with the manager if we can have the table for a hour... Maybe... We said no maybe either yes or no , then, they said for 1 hour and half maybe, we said no again, looked like if someone else would have made a booking they would have us get up from the table. We said no again finally they said you have the table for two hours. Felt like they were doing me a favor on my money as a customer. Not going back...
