Having arrived in Aberdeen this morning after an overnight ferry trip from Shetland, I was in need of a hot (emphasis on the hot) and stimulating coffee. This is not what I received at Pret a Manger. The coffee with milk I received was barely lukewarm (and that is being generous) and made with a large quantity of ice cold milk. On asking if it could be warmed up (expecting it to be at least microwaved, if not to be given a fresh, HOT coffee - it was obvious to the assistant just how cold it was from touching the cup), the young man splashed a tiny quantity of hot water into the cup. Due to the already very low temperature of the drink, this did absolutely nothing to raise its temperature. In this day and age, and with competition among chains to out-do each other and provide excellent quality, is it too much to ask that staff actually know how to make a cup of HOT coffee.....? So, here I am, still sitting here with a virtually undrinkable coffee, very disappointed with Pret a Manger, and unlikely to ever set foot...
Read moreMy partner and I went in for a hot drink at the weekend and it was extremely busy but luckily we found a couple of uncomfortable stools at the window and we sat there until a more comfortable table became vacant. As soon as one became available we moved. Shortly after, a member of staff named Jamie Lee approached and asked us to move as she has promised the table to a family of three, and she mentioned to us while trying to convince us to move that they have also purchased a expensive meal insinuating that they deserve the seats due to the amount of money they have spent and we had only two drinks. I had to ask her again to be sure if she just really said that because I actually didn't believe what I heard then she said that I am blowing this out of proportion. This behaviour is absolutely disgusting, discriminatory and...
Read moreThey have lovely food, but the atmosphere inside is a bit sterile, and I can't recommend them for online ordering. For quite a while, I ordered approx. once a week via Uber Eats, but in around 80% (!!!) of all cases an item was missing, meaning one of us had to go without lunch. It was so frustrating that I now give them a wide berth. I mean, how hard can it be to check whether everything is in the bag before you give it to the Uber driver? Other restaurants can do this easily, after all. Plus, there is no label on the food telling you what it is, which makes it a bit difficult to distribute similar looking sandwiches/baguettes. No amount of feedback brought any change, so now they have lost me...
