Come across this place from reviews online, so wanted to try it out. I visited Sunday just gone and the lad that served us was great and recommended some ciders, off to a great start.
We ordered food and when the waitress brought it over to us, she was unfortunately the most miserable and unapproachable server I have encountered in many years. Didn’t ask if we needed anything so as she was walking away, we asked for some sauces, we got no acknowledgment from her. On her return we asked if she was ok as at this point we felt extremely uncomfortable, she just screwed her face up and said “yeah” and walked back in. It was nothing short of rude and abrupt.
I am sure this place is great, we enjoyed the cider and food but she is a bad apple and either needs training or to reconsider her job. We dined Sunday 24th about 1pm, she wasn’t wearing a name badge so didn’t get her name. Do better next time or try fake some kind of service to...
Read moreWas really disappointed as I had spoken to someone to book for a large party and had asked to be seated outside to which I was told wouldn’t be a problem .. we had been at another bar beforehand sat outside and really didn’t want too leave , but I had given my card details to the cider house and knew that if we didn’t arrive they would take £50 off of my card …when we arrived there we were put in a very dark seated area at the back of the building .. the sun was shining outside but it felt like it was nighttime … I spoke to someone about it and they said they were too busy and couldn’t accommodate us outside so we only had the option to sit in this dark dingy room …we didn’t enjoy the experience there and we all had one drink and left .. wouldn’t return as there are many places in bath that have lovely outside space to enjoy the...
Read moreYour door staff need to be retrained. I myself (19) went to your pub last night where I had my id taken. I was asked to show them additional ways of identification, to which I showed them numerous including a bank statement however they still took it. And I also know that from my law degree that SIA door supervisors and handlers have no further legal right of seizing identification documents than any normal person (who have no right). I would also like to add I said I would bring my passport the following day to collect it, but within 5minutes they had passed it onto the police. I go out probably 2 or 3 times a week and have done for last few years not just in bath. But that may be the most unfriendly and unqualified security team I’ve ever had...
