Lovely, small, inviting back Street pub. Great decorations, with a military theme, as well as rugby, and a character of a landlord, all made us feel very welcome. My wife had coffee, I had a 0.0% Peroni, and we shared a pork scratching or two. Lots of friendly banter, and the pub had a family feel to it. We sat in the window and watched the world go by, and as we probably won't be revisiting as only in Bath for two days, the next decent thing to do was leave a positive review. I loved it here, and I could spend hours whiling time away, enjoying being in a traditional boozer. Good selection of beers, ciders and spirits, and although we didn't eat the food hygiene rating was top (5) and a good selection of dishes was available. Keep up the good work guys, we'll be back sometime...

If you want the perfect UK pub experience that hasn’t been commercialized by a Nicholson’s or Greene King, this place will be the spot.
Tucked in a corridor off the main shopping lane, you will find a spot that doesn’t seat many, but is always full of smiles and laughs. If you don’t want to partake in chatter, go somewhere else. The locals will have you in stitches keeping up with Paul behind the bar.
I will come to Bath just for this pub in the future and be sure to bring my friends to enjoy seeing them torn apart by some classic...
Read moreStumbled across this traditional, proper, English pub and what a refreshing change to a more modern boozer. A wide range of spirits, especially the rum selection. The barman was of a rare breed, where he looked after his customer's needs and was an ear for anyone with troubles or tales to tell. The owner/landlord was a character you rarely see nowadays. Buy him a shot and make a friend. The music, classic British. The decor classic British. With pictures of spitfires, British forces and Nigel Farage what more can you ask for. Oh, and beer is great. Try the black rat for cider lovers. Hope to stumble across it again soon. Cheers...
