Was looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat on a trip to Belfast, wanted to try a traditional Ulster Fry. So we came across Bright’s, there was a queue, which is usually a good sign, we were seated in less than 10 minutes. Now to the Ulster Fry, living up to the New York Post banner outside, it’s one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in Belfast, reminiscent of my Grandmothers efforts. Good quality ingredients, cooked well, Heinz beans which is a big plus, proper tea in a pot, at least 3 cups. We also tried the stack, which was a revelation, soda bread, topped with bacon, then potato cake, then sausages, a pancake, topped with 2 eggs - something I’ll be recreating at home. Staff were very friendly and polite, prices are very reasonable, well worth a visit.

Portions are immense! Brights is always perfect for a good quality, home cooked meal in the city centre. Edit I was in again today with my partner and child and I have to say the staff were absolutely amazing, the food was second to none. We had originally picked somewhere else in the city centre to eat, but sadly had to leave (nothing was up to scratch in the other place that we were going to eat in) and couldn’t think where to go, as we were having a family meal out. Then we remembered about Brights and from the moment we sat down we just wondered why we hadn’t gone to Brights in the first place. My partner got an all day fry and I got the steak, out little boy got sausages, rice and gravy (weird, I know). Delighted!

Eating out as a solo parent with three little ones is never easy, but the staff were all kind, attentive and so helpful, even during a busy lunchtime... and busy it always is, with a queue out of the door for good reason, customers knowing they are in for good honest food and good service. The kids ordered a kids pizza each, but could easily have shared, they are enormous, so they took it home and ate it later, saying it was just as delicious then. It's a great cafe for an omelette or a fry and a cuppa. Thanks for taking care of us, we'll be back :)

Absolutely loved this place. I have walked by it many times and thought about going in. I must say the place isn't the cheapest but it's probably the best quality you can find for the actual sitting in, staff and food quality. Me and my partner entered and were quickly grated and lead to a booth. We did see family's in booths but they are more sized for two and we aren't big people. You could probably fit four into them if your not a big build. We arrived at around five to twelve and breakfast cuts off at twelve which I must say is a shame as the food on that section sounds delicious and they don't seam to do all day frys, however being five to twelve we were lucky to order two frys which amazing came very quick and the bacon was well cooked. The food was delicious and well made, we didn't need to send anything back. Sadly I wasn't allowed to see the bill as my partner bought us it but the menu did look rather pricey compared to places in the area such as Blinkers. However when going back today we decided to go to Blinkers instead due to them having no tables left and there was people in front of us, which we knew from yesterday that they seam to do really well. The place was quickly filled after we had been seated yesterday and they do take out but as it was bad weather today we...

Terrible does not even cover how bad my experience really was! I ordered a burrito with chips & a fanta. Let me tell you the fanta was the best of it, because they didn't make it. First of all the chips were not properly cooked so after trying one of them I was done with them Unfortunately due to low blood sugar I was forced to eat the burrito & oh god do I wish I that I hadn't The chicken in it seemed tasty enough but the rest was overly spicy which didn't matter once i reached the part where the cheese was because it overpowered everything else! So I can't even say for sure that there was soured cream on it as ordered. After I was done I started to feel nauseated & went to the bathroom which even though it seemed clean gave me a weird feeling. Once we left I got pepto bismol which for a bit solved the nausea But then I started to get thirsty like crazy, while I had to run some errants & on top of everything on my way hone I started to feel that I was getting diarrhea. I unlocked the door to rush inside but it was too late And the diarrhea went on for hours until I was able to get my hands imodium After I took that, it slowly stopped. I can not recommend this place & will most definitely not be going back...

Never thought I'd be leaving a bad review of Brights. We've been going here for years and was never disappointed until today. The cod supper has been shrinking in portion size over the years but today was the worst I've seen. What's even worse was the taste - it didn't taste fresh or fried there and then. It felt like frozen young's fish with a sour finish. Peas and gravy weren't great either. 2 bites of fish and spoonful of peas put me off the whole thing. The wife always got a chicken tikka panini which doesn't exist on the menu anymore but we asked just in case they could do it - they said they could make it but when it arrived it was very clearly Cajun chicken which wasn't even cooked very well as it arrived on a hard / stale baguette looking piece of bread. Overall a very poor experience and very unlikely we will be back which is a shame. We miss the one on castle street.

Forgot to mention we also seen a cloth dropped on the floor was then used to clean a table and was likely used to clean many other things. This is bad at any time, never mind during a...
