Ordered 2 "bumper breakfasts" (2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, potato bread, soda bread, pancake, hash brown, mushrooms, beans, chips and tomato). As we are unable to eat tomato products, I asked the server if it was possible to swap out the beans and tomato for 1 portion of toast each. The server said that it wasn't a problem at all.

The service was reasonably quick but the quality of the food, we felt, was just ok. There was no sign of the toast. So I asked the server again. A couple of minutes later she arrived with the toast and left the bill on the table of £21.10. Then I noticed that we only received 1 sausage each.

After our meal, I went up to pay and the cashier took the docket from me and asked me for £23.10. This was a £2 difference that what was on the docket. I said to him that I thought the amount owed was £21.10 and he repeated no, it's £23.10. I'm guessing that it was for the portion of toast. But given that I didn't even get a full "bumper breakfast", together with asking the server to swap the items, I thought it was an little unfair. I wasn't going to argue over £2 but just paid and left.

I really don't understand why people love this place, when they can't get the simple stuff right, like the order. Plus, if there was going to be an extra charge for 1 portion of toast given that we removed 2 items from the "bumper breakfast" (excluding the fact that we only got 1 sausage), we should have been told or at least be given an updated docket.

When we visit Belfast again, we will be avoiding...

So disappointed in my experience today. Food was not the usual standard. Normally look forward to eating here when I visit Belfast. Service was so poor today I was actually shocked with the waitress' attitude. I ordered lasagne, which specified on the menu that it came with home cut garlics and coleslaw. Lasagne arrived no garlic chips! Thought they be here shortly. I'm half way through the lasagne still no garlics so I called the waitress(Small, blonde hair) according to the receipt her name was Fiona. She had such a couldn't care less attitude. I explained the garlics hadn't arrived to which she replied "you didn't ask for garlics with it" I explained that on the menu it stated that the lasagne was accompanied with garlics and coleslaw. I asked her to see a menu so I could show this to her. She turned on her heels and walked away and started chatting to those behind the counter. I thought she had put the order through but none came. I called her again but she looked me straight in the face, blanked me and started using the til. At the point I called her the guy who works in the kitchen was passing and heard me calling "excuse me" to her. He came back to the table and politely asked if everything was OK. I explained I was waiting for garlics. He was ever so pleasant and said he would get it sorted. Within a few minutes he was back with the garlics, which she clearly hadn't ordered. Based on today's experience I won't be back nor would I recommend this place to others which is so...

Went here the Sunday before last for some brunch with my girlfriend as we’ve always got great food here. However, on this visit it was the actions of a member of staff which warranted us to leave before even being seated. Whilst we waited in a queue for a table we were informed that the wait time was about 10-20mins which was not a problem. Within a couple of minutes of being told this, a guy and girl came to the entrance (in full view of the queue) and called a waiter by her name. He asked about the wait time for a table (as he obviously seen the large queue) and she told him the same thing as we were told. They had a bit of playful chat about this and he was then told they could go through straight away if they didn’t mind taking a smaller table (for clarity, this option was not presented to anyone else waiting in the queue). The guy and girl were lead straight past the entire queue and to their table in full view of everyone waiting. After this ourselves and the couple immediately behind us turned around and left the cafe. Extremely poor from the member of staff who showed virtually no consideration or respect for the waiting customers. We would be very unlikely to return after...

Had very high expectations before going in, as this place came up first on my lift for greasy breakfasts! Waited about 20mins to get in because of the queue and ordered within 5mins. However, took us an hour to get our food! We asked about it 40mins in, as at that stage we already had our coffee that gone cold, we were yapping away, only to realise 40mins passed. When we asked how much longer, we found out our order never made it to the kitchen 🙈 when we finally received it, mood was off already and I'm not sure if it was that or the food was average really.. like yes it was a big fry up but I can't say that it was one of the best I've had! Soda bread was very dry, we only got half of the pancake and tomato was stone hard, sausages and mushroom were nice though! Their milkshakes are unreal though but sooo heavy! They wouldn't even come up the staw and i only had half of minehas they were so heavy and sweet, so perhaps making smaller milkshake portions could do! Service was ok but just thinking how we were ignored for 40mins and no one noticed we haven't been served it is a bit strange too, until we asked 🙈

I recently visited Maggie Mays in Belfast and enjoyed a hearty meal. The relaxed, casual atmosphere of the restaurant made it a comfortable spot to dine, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. I ordered the chicken with pepper sauce, and it was a satisfying dish. The chicken was cooked well, tender, and juicy, while the pepper sauce was rich and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. It complemented the chicken beautifully and added depth to the overall taste. The portion size was generous, making it great value for money. While the dish was enjoyable, I feel there’s room for slight improvement in the presentation. However, the quality of the food and the welcoming service made up for it.
