Absolutely excellent. What a brilliant experience. If you haven't been- you have got to put it on your go to list.I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed! Danny Millar excels again.Thank you.Had a fantastic meal. This time there was a group of us.Great selection of starters and with the main courses there was something for everyone. Light monkfish & crispy egg were just 2 of the starters which were a big hit! ( My description doesn't do it justice) The lamb rump was beautifully tasty & tender,I had the beef cheek which was literally melt in your mouth. The accompanying vegetables were cooked to perfection. There was a great selection of desserts which were all tested and enjoyed. The wines selected enhanced the flavours of the food.We had a light elegant Alberino.. which we could sample before getting bottle and a cheeky Malbec, juicy on the palette which of course was so good, we just had to indulge on a second bottle! This did bump the price up from the food bill but we'll worth it. Paul's customer service was excellent aswell. He was great at advising and explaining the dishes & the wine along with just the right amount of attention to detail with the service without it being interfering.Anticipating our needs at always the right moment and checking that everything was to our liking. After the meal was over we moved to the balcony to finish off with teas & coffees, overlooking the indoor bustling St Georges market. If a visitor to Belfast.. or local you should go to Stock and Bar at least once. Its a prime situation were you can then have a wander in the market to browse and buy anything and everything from artisan crafts, pictures to second hand and antiques.Either way it's a great place to go to either before or after Stock and Bar. Will definitely be back..but you should go too if you want excellent food and wine!

On a hot and sunny day, whilst on a visit to St Georges Market, I decided that a cool pint of beer would go down well. I decided to give Stock kitchen and bar a visit to quench my thirst. I can't speak for the food on offer as I didn't eat on this occasion. I found the place very accessible as I have mobility issues. I was able to get an elevator to the first floor Bar/Kitchen/Restaurant area. As the elevator opened, I knew immediately that I had made a good decision. I was taken aback by the decor and furnishings. It was quite clear that it is wheelchair friendly. I don't depend on a wheelchair, but for anyone that does, it's ideal. It has a wonderful balcony which overlooks the ground floor market trading area. I made my way to the bar area and was met by a very courteous, friendly and efficient bar staff member. I was served up a pint of beer which I found cool and refreshing, price wise, I wouldn't call it expensive. I have paid more in places that wouldn't even come close as to what this place has to offer. As I said before I didn't eat on this visit, but without a doubt I will be back to give the menus a go. From my experience, I can give it a 5 star review/reccomendation. Best wishes for the future.

First time I have ever been here, booked it this morning as having seen the menu was impressed. We went into the restaurant to book this evening and the lovely lady that took our booking was most helpful, she even found out what fish was featuring on the menu that night and it was Dover Sole or Turbot for two...sold straight away. The atmosphere, decor, service, and whole experience was superb and our waiter Nick was very entertaining, attentive and knew his job inside out, a true professional. We both ordered the Dover Sole which came with perfect roast veg and chunky chips, the butter sauce complemented the fish perfectly. I had the Pavlova with winter fruits and vanilla cream to follow which was delicious. Have not experienced a perfect evenings dining like this for a very long time and would thoroughly recommend you dine here. We are over from Manchester and I can honestly say they have nothing to match this experience there.

You know how it is: sometimes it’s a bit like ā€œThe Emperor’s New Clothesā€! Everyone seems to be raving so much about a particular venue, and your expectations have been built up so highly, that it can only disappoint. And so, as we’d heard nothing but glowing reports, we felt slightly apprehensive about our first visit to Stock. We needn’t have worried.

Chefs Danny Millar and Andy Rea have created an amazing restaurant above the bustling St George’s Market serving memorable, quality dishes using only the finest of Irish ingredients. The team work with local suppliers who are just as passionate about the produce as they are. The classic architectural surroundings on the second floor are stunning with a dining balcony overlooking the thriving marketplace below.

We chose a few of the lighter dishes for starters, and as soon as they arrived, we knew this was going to be a very special lunch indeed. Tasty, traditional Irish Crubeens, crispy Courgette Fries sprinkled liberally with Parmesan, an incredible fresh Ballyhornan Crab Salad, and slow-fermented ā€œSour Bakeā€ pizza bread, oozing with garlic butter.

All of our main course options showcased some of the amazing fresh seafood on the menu; rich sweet Strangford Lobster on a prawn and lobster raviolo, an outstanding Market Seafood Casserole, perfectly cooked Dover Sole on the bone, and a special of Lobster-Stuffed Courgette Flowers with a rich lobster bisque.

And desserts were also a delight ; a light as a feather Strawberry Pavlova, and a Dark Chocolate Tart with raspberries and orange mascarpone - a perfect ending to a wonderful lunch. We can’t wait to return to Stock in the very...

I haven't been able to get out for dinner for a considerable time and when this place was suggested, I was a little bit worried because, while I knew there was an eatery there, I hadn't heard anyone talking about it and I made an assumption it was just a middle of road type restaurant based above George's Market.

I have to say, I went in not expecting much, but was absolutely gob smacked! It definitely wasn't what I was expecting! The place isn't massive but the use of the space is fabulous! There is a bar area where you can sit pre and post dinner. The decor is first class and the atmosphere was excellent and a tribute to the owners, but more so the staff working there!

While it is a little on the pricier end of the scale for me, although not wildly priced, I have to say the food was outstanding and the staff helped us get enough food to share between 5 of us!!

We had parmesan fries with a few drinks while deciding what to have. We had a variety of starters before the fish and meat sharing meals and a steak, that was one side of a cow!

At the end, a few deserts were then taken and others had an alcoholic refreshment instead. The wine list is extensive and to be honest above my head, but we shared a terrific bottle of red that I hate myself for not taking a note of to look it up! In total, it was £70 a head! A little more than my usual financial envelope, but it was a special night out, so I was a bit surprised because I was genuinely expecting it to be more!

Overall a terrific night out and great experience and a credit to the owners and staff! I really do mean it when I say I want...
