Six decades in the making! A real oasis on what is fast becoming Stirchley's golden mile. After a few take-aways we visited for a 30th birthday meal - we were not disappointed. The delivery driver recognised us too which was nice. Plenty of cheaper spots nearby if that's your bag, being licensed just adds to the experience. We will be back ... beautiful food and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff told us that they recently celebrated their sixty year anniversary. It's now at the very heart of Stirchley's rennaissance.

Akash is a gem of a place for a curry. Been visiting for over 25yrs. Service, food and atmosphere always good. It's a small place, so would always recommend ringing ahead to book a table. Photo is a Balti Chicken Pathia - boshhhhhhhhh!

Best Indian restaurant for miles, always welcoming, attentive and polite. The food is incredible, full of flavour and great portion size. Me and my dad come for a treat every now and then. Thank you!

I went there with a few friends after work on a Sunday night. We arrived at about 2145. One of my friends has been going here for about 30 years. So I trusted her judgement. And I'm so pleased I did. The service we received was wonderful. It was very prompt and they couldn't do enough for us. The food on offer was great, hot and very well priced. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Even though it was my first visit. I was made to feel like I'd been going for years. The food I had (vegetable biryani) was plentiful and it was so big I couldn't finish it. So even though it was my first visit I'm going to try and make sure I can go back again. And I don't often write that. Highly recommended even for an awkward vegetarian...

If you're near, go there!!! The food is exceptional and the service is absolutely amazing. My fiance is Italian and supposedly "hates Indian food". I'd tried telling her for years that Birmingham Indian food is WAY different (better). Sully the manager was incredible, what a fantastic guy and a great manager too (im ex restaurants and bars). Long story short, she loved every single mouthful and ate a third of mine too. I had the Bhuna special (superb), she had the chicken tikka biriani - both incredible. The naans are amazing too. Everything was perfect and we'll...

A Saturday night meal at Akash was just about satisfactory. Despite being nearly full, the atmosphere was sterile. The service didn’t charm, which may have contributed. My biryani was unremarkable, as was my partner’s chicken ‘Balti’. It hadn’t been cooked in the bowl it was served in, which wasn’t hot, as a balti should be. The dishes did arrive swiftly. Prices are fairly low - many around £10 - but quality lags far behind pricier places (i.e. Akram’s) in Stirchley’s balti mile. I’d curry on further south down the Pershore Road...
