Anjuna Lounge — Restaurant in Birmingham

Was very quiet for a Saturday night when we went in. Was getting on for around 9pm so I was expecting there to be a few in there. As it was my wife and I made it to a total of 4 inside. There may have been some more in the beer garden. Wasn't too into the trance/house music playing in the background (I love it in the right environment - don't get me wrong). Didn't seem appropriate somehow and didn't create a vibe that was fitting imho. I think some more commercial stuff like UB40 started playing a little later. That said, the ice cream IPA was very nice and even though I was technically outside kitchen hours, they were more than happy to make me one of those famous pakora burgers. I was so happy that they did as it was magic! The fries that come with too are next level and I didn't get many of them as my wife took quite a liking to them too. I really love this place, I've been a few times. They have a south Indian inspired daily menu which is very reasonably priced. The coffe is great and they also have a licence so you could have a tipple. I believe they open till 8pm on a Saturday so you could go for a cheap evening meal then go to the other stirchley night spots nearby. I really hope the business can get through the current COVID situation because I think what the owners are trying to do here is different to what is available in the area and the food and service...

This place is amazing! Daal is my food heaven so I had to try the coconut daal and it was stunning! I loved the addition of crispy onions and pumpkin seeds; I don't often eat poppadoms but this one was incredible - I actually saw it being cooked so I knew it was super fresh.
