A small hidden gem. Quality, fresh made Chinese food, definitely recommend. Have been going here with friends for a few years now & have not once been disappointed.
This little golden nugget is hidden away in The Arcadian, by the asian supermarket. Walk-ins only I think.
They are cash only - so please ensure you've got your funds otherwise it's a short walk to find a cash machine.
A small menu of choice keeping to what it knows best, that is the fresh noodles, hand pulled. You can watch the noodles being made at the window after choosing the thickness of noodle to your preference as seen on the BBC.
Small starter collection, but with the portion sizes on the larger side, we usually don't bother.
Noodle soup is their winner here, the beef brisket & king prawns are especially tasty. It's hot broth, vegetables combined with their noodles is so filling. Have the spice heat to suit you. Perfect for the winter but still light to eat in the summer.
Their stir fried noodles again are to die for. Like with fresh pasta you, really notice the difference in taste & consistency.
We usually share a side of garlic fried vegetables to accompany our mains which is packed with garlic and totally delicious.
Wash it down with either a pot of green tea, or, their home made hot or cold (cold recommended) honey & lemon tea. We usually order more to take home with us if we haven't popped into the Japanese cake & boba store just 50 feet away.
You'll find this place simple yet consistent, and wanting to return as often as your stomach can take it.
Just don't all rush at once as I still want to be able to get...
Read moreMe and my friend visited from Liverpool today and were walking around Chinatown when we happened to stumble upon this hidden gem. The lady was friendly and welcoming which was a nice change to the hostility we received all day from shops and restaurants in Birmingham in general. We weren’t feeling that hungry but couldn’t pass up on trying hand pulled noodles so we ordered it to takeaway. I had the braised chicken soup noodle and my friend had the beef, we both didn’t eat it until we got all the way home to liverpool but we both agreed it was absolutely delicious. Bearing in mind the food had been wrapped up so carefully in containers and cling film it was still all intact by the time I got home 3 hours later, can only imagine how fresh and even more delicious it would’ve tasted if we sat and ate at the restaurant. Would travel back to Birmingham just to...
Read moreEverybody says this restaurant has a very good service, I agree to some extent but what gave me a very bad impression was when I was going to pay the bill; the cashier lady asked for cash and did not allow me to pay by card!!! Daylight tax evasion! As I didn’t have cash she asked to transfer the money to her account. She already had a card ready which her bank account details was written on. It took me 15 minutes to pay and to wait for her to confirm the transfer. Yes, the food is better than McDonald, but when you’re paying min £15 for a meal you expect much better. The pieces of meat in your dish are few, all you eat are noodles, which to be honest are homemade. I’ve eaten Chinese food before, and I know this one wasn’t with that much of high quality. The only reason I chose this restaurant was because of its high review points which makes me wonder it’s...
