Where do I start...
The staff were friendly and the Service was rapid. After ordering, the food came particularly quickly. Almost TOO quickly. Maybe I'm just skeptical because I'm used to a 700-800 Watt Microwave. Anyway, on to the main part - the food. After stuffing down what I thought was a safe option (A chicken Burger with a McDonalds sized chicken mayo sauce (basically the smallest amount of sauce)), I thought there was something fishy (pun not intended). I mean my first bite of the Burger releasing some sort of liquid that tasted like cigarettes was enough for me to question. After having two other people help me repeatedly to smell my plate and my Fingers, I knew that it wasnt just me. My Fingers smelt like a 58 year old smoker. Now either they burnt the oil, changed it 4 days ago - which would be surprising considering the amount of customers - or one of the employees is a Smoking addict.
Just to clarify, no I don't smoke or handle / have handled any products that are in cigarettes.
If you're looking for the same sort of atmosphere with the same speedy Service, I can reccomend a McDonalds. No need to hunt for one; they are everywhere. They might even have 2 Smoking employees outside if you want the smell.
After praying that I don't catch lung cancer, I decided to write this review.
Also, I forgot the part about how the front door was difficult to open and how the staff just stood there and looked at us when we entered.
Also also, we had to prompt 3 times for the table water as they forgot and the interior was pretty cheapy average with metal tables metal chairs. It had more of a diner sort of feel. We were lucky enough to get the booth.
All in all, the experience was pretty...
Read moreFirst visit was very pleasant, but second visit was very disappointing. The only reason it doesn’t get a 1-star is because our first experience was decent, but I’m afraid we won’t be coming back.
On our second visit, we ordered a fried platter with shrimp and also ordered the lobster tail. The fried shrimp was so poorly implemented… They couldn’t be bothered to remove the shell from the shrimp before frying, so you had to eat shell with the shrimp as it was impossible to remove shell after they had fried it. Eating the shells gave me terrible indigestion and left me with a poor stomach all day; I threw up most of the meal afterwards. The waiting staff were aware of this and did not warn us. We only found out they were aware of it after we mentioned at the end of the meal.
Another disappointment was the lobster tail. The cost of the it was around £20 but it was the tiniest amount of meat. Honestly, such a rip off. To make it worse, they fried the lobster, which ruined it. I get that they fried it to match the rest of the fried platter, but they shouldn’t assume that’s what we want if they know it’s going to ruin it, in my opinion, especially since it’s not that cheap.
There was not really an attempt by the manager to comp us for the bad experience, after the issues were mentioned. I expected a discount of what we already ate. However, we were only offered additional free drinks that we couldn’t drink because we were already full. The way they dealt with this situation was very cold. It just felt like it was just business to them, they don’t care if you had a bad experience. Very...
Read moreCame across this as we were randomly googling restaurants in the area. Who could not be intrigued by the thought of a city of seafood, esp a seafood boil Louisiana style! We came without a booking on a Friday evening at 7pm and was given a choice of tables to choose from.
The waiter came to attend to us quite quickly and took our drink order as well as food. We ordered the Keep it Shrimple (boiled with garlic butter), side of garlic bread and a Calamari to start.
The Calamari was tender and lightly battered and came with a lovely Aioli sauce. Quite enjoyable. The main dish was extremely tasty with the garlic butter but one could still taste the hint of Cajun spice. It was good to see prawns were deveined and decently sized. They are still in their shell so get ready to start peeling. The corn on the cob was sweet and soaked up the delicious boil juice and delicious (you only get three small ones) and the potatoes were a good portion! We didn’t expect to get garlic bread with the boil so had ordered two more slices on the side! It is a must have to mop up any remaining sauce.
We were provided with aprons, gloves and wet wipes so even after our “hands on” meal, we were as clean as we walked into the restaurant.
They also served a Vietnamese beer, Bia, which was a light and refreshing lager to go with the flavoursome dish.
Overall a surprisingly good experience and the food tasted fresh and with the sauce, kept you wanting for more! No doubt we...
