It was my fiancés birthday on Saturday. We booked a table at 6 for 4 people. We arrived there 15 min before the booking, still at 7 we were not at our table yet. The starters arrived at 7:45! And my fiancée who is celiac and pescatarian received fried chicken on the although we explained her dietary requirements multiple times before arrival and at least 5 times at the restaurant! I spoke to the manager and requested her food to be cooked before the rest to prevent cross contamination. When the chef arrived at the table (he brought the meat and fish on the same tray - MAJOR CONCERN FOR THOSE WHO ARE ALLERGIC TO FISH!), asked for dietary requirements AGAIN even though it was written on his ticket by the manager, but we answered the question as we always want to make sure she doesn’t get sick.
He started to cook, rice was ok, salmon was ok. Then he started to cook prawns, chicken, beef and lamb at the same time! Used the same utensils to mix fish and chicken, then put all prawns and chicken on my fiancé’s place even though we told him 5 TIMES by now that she doesn’t eat meat. But it still didn’t finish. He went on to cook beef/lamb again put both on my fiancé’s plate…. At the end of the evening she couldn’t eat anything. As you can imagine she was freaked out about the cross contamination and her meal was £50+ just for her. The manager came to the table afterwards as it was obvious we were not happy and I was noticeably worried about my partner and asked how everything was. We are not the kind of people who complain as we work in the same industry and understand when mistakes happen but I couldn’t stay quiet this time as there was an obvious blatant regard for her allergy and dietary restrictions. So I privately spoke to the manager about our discontent and even though she gave a 20% discount on our final bill after we paid she tried to cover the disaster saying that the chef was new and tried to hand us a fridge magnet and a celebrations chocolate… This was a MASSIVE slap in the face and embarrassing on the company. We never had such a horrible evening like this before, and imagine the frustration as it was my fiancé’s birthday. Particularly as she had a reaction minutes after leaving and is still sick 2 days later!!!!
I hope after this night everyone got a full trainings section of allergens and dietary restrictions. I hope this would not happen again to other people but highly doubt anything will be done. I can say we will not be back and warn all of those with ANY dietary restrictions/allergies to stay far away...

If you're a person of colour, stay clear!!!
Having had a 730pm booking, we were requested to please be seated in the waiting area due to overstay on previous bookings. Fast forward and hour later, still waiting for a seat however those of non colour who arrived after us were "coincidencetally" seated before us.
The manager very "politely" came to us and advised there is a party that's refusing to move who is the reason for the backlog of us not being seated. She advised they have stopped serving the party in an effort for them to up and go. Surely there's more approachable measures???
60 minutes later, all non colour are escorted to their seats, mind you, those that arrived well after us and we are casually escorted very lastly to our beloved delayed seats, which turned our not to be ours!!
Seated and putting the past behind us, throat dry and hungrier than a bull on heat, all non colour patrons were offered a complimentary drink because of the delay in being seated, mind you, those that had bookings well after us, meaning we had waited longer than everyone in that seating. We were offered no complimentary drinks even though the manager was apologizing to all beside us but completely chose to ignore our presence. The complimentary was not a big factor for us but the mere non recognition meant we were taken for granted.
We checked with those beside us to confirm the Manager had offered them complimentary drinks as they were astonished as to why we weren't and why we waited so long to be seated as they had arrived well after.
We tried ordering drinks, got told the bar is too busy??? The people beside us got their drinks in 3 minutes. Again, non colour. We eventually got up, advised the manager we were leaving who could care less about making things right or even offering and explanation.
I have to bring a race aspect into this as I think as people, we should be far beyond this and i cannot determine any factor otherwise. The disrespect faced today by this manager of this establishment has left the most putrid taste in our mouth after longing for a well flourished teppenyaki. This place has been on my hit list for months to try!!!!!
It wouldn't have been a surprise if non colour people got their food before us and we had to watch them eat, salivating.
Overall, an absolute disgrace to humanity, if you're non colour, you're safe, if you're like me, spend your money at a place that appreciates your presence.

Read moreCame here to celebrate new years. Was the worst experience of a restaurant that myself and my partner had. Firstly, the waitresses weren't very friendly. Sake was served in a wine glass which is the wrong container and the food was not fresh tasting and undercooked. The gaps between receiving food took too long, it was too cold inside and the bright lights shining into our faces was uncomfortable. Took ages for teppan chef to turn up and when he started his tricks I got splattered with boiling hot soy sauce on my bare arm and onto our nice expensive clothing.
Your establishment seems to attract a certain type of basic person in dire need of entertainment, the type of folk who are unkind to alternative people looking for an experience, such as our selves. We poorly misjudged your restaurant thinking it could be interesting. They made us feel ubcomfortable for having vegan food which understandably had to be cooked first in order to avoid cross contamination with corpse remnants. Having lived in Japan for over a year I can confirm that the flavours of food and the whole etiquette was sub par and frankly offensive to Japanese cuisine and culture. The garlic was burned and when the chef cracked an egg I once again was splattered with boiling hot liquid which went directly into my eye. At this point we walked out without paying for the measly food we had already consumed. Our nice clothes stank of cooking due to poor ventilation and there wasn't even any gentle music playing to create an atmosphere. No leg room for tall people and the chairs were wholly unconfortable. Truly this restaurant is a gimic executed poorly by those who do not understand the subtle art of Japanese food. I would not go here again even if you gave me 100 quid in free vouchers and I will actively be diasuading anyone from visiting your establishment. Wish I could give...
