I went in to get some food at Dixy before a movie, at the Odeon Luxe around the corner
They didnât have a halal sign on the door, which made me skeptical obviously, despite Dixy being well known for halal food in the majority of their branches
So I went to the front. Waited 3-4 mins for the guy and girl to finish their gossip session (fr they were spilling the tea)
Then the guy comes forward, says something which was probably âyou alrightâ, he sounded lifeless and out of breath, poor guy
And I asked if they were halal. He didnât say anything, just blinked and nodded his head slightly. Very strange and insincere
So I asked to see if he had a halal certificate (itâs not worth eating something that Iâm doubtful of). He went to the side and looked through multiple folders for 2-3 whole minutes
And he pulled out a halal certificateâ that expired on â20/12/2022â
Bruvvvvv, thatâs 2 years ago! đđđđđ
At that point, I knew it definitely wasnât the best place for a Muslim to eat, so I just left
Food probably wouldâve been dead anyways based on the other reviews icl; I didnât care how hungry I was
So Alhamdulillah aâla kulli haal
But FSA need to have a look on whatâs going on in there frrrrrrrr. And verify the validity of whether their food is halal or not. And whack them with a fat fine, because itâs not okay at all for staff to say that they serve halal food, and be comfortable showing an expired...
Read moreThe quality of the food as well as the service and hygiene, makes this the best dixy in Birmingham, and I've been to them all. Well worth the drive.
My regular go to meal is the classic megamix burger. Packed with so much chicken coated; in the instantly recognisable, cooked to perfection and seasoned just right dixy flavoured coating. I guarantee you could not eat two of the burgers in one sitting. And I weigh 13st of pure muscle.
I strongly recommend trying the chilli sauce dripped all over the fries. im not a big fan of chilli sauce, but this isn't just any chilli sauce..
when i feel adventurous I like to throw some jalapeño pepper bites into the mix. Washed down with the drink that comes, if you order the meal like I do.
Sometimes when I'm feeling something light I opt for the zesty fresh zing of the flame grilled peri peri chicken breast, succulent and juicy which would suit a more exotic pallet.
I'll be honest, i mainly stick to my personal favourite. Classic. Megamix. Meal. (Available in an alternative spicy flavour)
Also very friendly staff. If you find yourself waiting its because of people like me lol..
I don't mind waiting while the staff cook. its not that long ( around 5 -10 minutes, and there's plenty of seating) ...
Read moreFriendly staff, appears clean from what I can see other than usual trash from eaten foods on tables after theyâve left and odd chip and salt packet on the floor. Medium-size store, used to house quite adequate seating for eating inside. Recent covid restrictions have currently made eating in, unavailable. Queues can be astronomical during peak times such as weekday lunchtimes and Friday and Saturday evenings. Expect to wait 5 to 7 min to be served then the remainder of your wait will depend upon what items you have ordered. Parking is a bit difficult as thereâs only a few spaces directly outside on the main road. Youâll have to park on the curb if spaces are available because customers from the Oriental food shop I-krave and dominoes shop also require parking there too. Peak times like Friday and Saturday evenings will make it very difficult to park. Rush-hour will also cause problems parking as triple the amount of cars are both trying to park and past through. There can be a lot of people congregating outside due to the amount of takeaway shops there. Pricing is relatively normal for a Dixy chicken but there are few items that are quite costly on the menu. Good to eat if youâre on a...
