Came in the afternoon time (04/03/2024) for a wee taste of an Indonesian meal. Was not disappointed on how homely the meal tasted. We order the rendang (beef) and the ayam (chicken) penyet meal. It tasted amazing… I loved how the elements of dishes compliment one another. The sambal was tasty, at times where it was spread on the chicken and rice, the oil and spices were absorbed well. The rendang, it was amazing. The instant you mix the sambal, salads, and rice together, you’d be presented with a burst of flavor. 5 star for the food. In addition, the taro latte was beautifully presented. Thank you for the food and drink. The food experiences aside, the front of house (FoH) was not welcoming at all. I came in with the expectation to introduce the Indonesian cuisine and culture to my Pakistani friend. The moment I came in, I would expect at least the warm hospitality from the staff. This was not present at all that time. Giving off a vibe that was unpleasant (no smile and was not facilitating with questions). At the end of my visit, I wanted to say goodbye to the cook (because she was Indonesian and it would be nice to great a fellow Indonesian and speak the language); also I wanted to directly compliment her on the food. Yet, I was not allowed, while the FoH says “the order were behind”. I totally get that work is work, but the shop was not busy at all (ranging around 5 costumers) and the conversation would not be any longer that 2 minutes to have. It just did not feel nice. Just sharing my experience on the place. Thank you again for the great food.

A cozy little cafe serving Indonesian coffee and food. It was busy when I arrived so only the table next to the till was available. Unfortunately that meant that anybody putting in an order was standing over me which made me feel very uncomfortable. I ordered Kopi Susu (coffee with milk) and Batagor (fried fish and prawn dumplings in a peanut sauce.) The coffee came within 10 minutes of waiting. It was smallish in size but came in a lovely glass carafe ready to be poured into a tiny cup. Although I don't usually have sugar in my coffee, I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, milky coffee. The wait for food was another 50 minutes and I thought I had been forgotten as I sat awkwardly at table feeling like I was in the way of anybody who wanted to put in an order. When the food arrived it looked amazing and tasted delicious. It was soon eaten. I would of happily ordered more food and coffee if it was for the extremely long waiting times putting me off. The prices were very reasonable. Maybe if I hadn't gone at lunch time on a Saturday I might of had a much better experience, but after having a tasty coffee and a very appetising and flavourful meal I felt too uncomfortable to stay there any longer and actually went somewhere else for another coffee that didn't taste half as good but I recieved it instantly and drank it in more comfortable surroundings. I will go back though, maybe during the week in the hope of a better experience because the coffee and food is great.

So disappointed - I had high hopes for this place and had been looking forward to it. A few problems: 1. The place is seriously understaffed. It wasn’t even very busy when we arrived, and there were only two members of staff who were rushing around clearing tables, making coffee, and bringing out food to people. There were only two people in the queue and we waited at least 15 minutes just in the queue. 2. I’m not trying to be a Karen, but the person taking the order could not give less of a crap, took ages to find the items on the menu on her phone (if you’re going to do that why not just give customers QR codes to do it themselves?) 3. The food service was chaotic. Orders weren’t tracked so the staff just went round multiple tables asking people who ordered what. I ordered 10 minutes after the person I was with, yet my food and drink both came out before theirs did. How does it take 20 minutes to bring out a canned drink from a fridge? 4. The food itself was very underwhelming. The plain fried tofu was just lazy and since when does “vegetables” just mean some slices of cucumber? The duck was okay but overcooked, and the rice was plain and dry. Poor representation of Indonesian food… Seriously underwhelming, considering all the good reviews and nice pictures.

The food was quite top notch (rating base on its at brum) coffee also very good. i bought 4 bags coffee bean

BIG DISSAPOINTED STAFF VERY UNPROFESIONAL AND NOT FREINDLY. Ask : which one the best selling bean? He : doing minor work (not even look at me

Ask again during get my receipt : which one is best selling bean? He : i don't know (face are not even friendly)

My kid wants snack. And he quite busy and i waiting front of counter to order/paid Ask : can i take it this 2 snack and paid later? (As my kid was many times repeat she want snack) He : (with not friendly tone) i will be there.

Im not run away as we in big group even my others friends still eating and told him to take first as kids are begging want the snack many time!

If he is the owner of shop that super terrible! But if he is the staff. Please hired good and friendly staff for the store.

Im coming to store with 15 pax. Spend almost £230 in total but the service its totally rubbish!

Seating : not suitable for eating. Seating arrangement more for coffee.

Not suitable for coming with group more than 1. As table very small for order more than 1 person. 2 person order table is full!

During peak time 1 person at counter. Making order (coffee) takes order. Payment. Even i saw that guy is cleaning the dish!

I go to another coffee shop just nearby they have 3 person at counter! Minimum Atleast 2! One person can cover to clean table.

Date : 28...
