We arrived 10 mins early was seated efficiently which showed promise. We ordered 3 drinks and a jug of water at 5.40pm. Approximately 10 mins later we ordered food. The restaurant was busy but there were empty tables, and during the time we were there a large proportion of the tables left. After around 30 mins we queried if we were getting our drinks to which we were politely informed the bar was very busy. 5 or so minutes later a member of our party went to the bar and was served almost immediately. 45 mins after being seated our food came, but we still had no drinks. When we queried this again the waitress reiterated the bar staff were busy, when I pointed out it was a warm sunny day and we were seated next to the window and could we get the water we had requested the staff member said that "she shouldn't ' but would. Eventually after nearly an hour the 3 drinks we had ordered arrived, whist they were correct and nice, one hour is too long to wait for drinks in a hospitality setting. The food we had received was mediocre at best, the cheese on the burger was not melted in any way and the burger itself had no heat to it suggesting it hadn't been cooked and delivered to the table efficiently. My friend had the dirty 'fries' which was essentially regular fries with a tea spoon of kidney beans on the top for an additional fee, and again both other meals were barely warm.
Our intention when booking was to have a main and possibly dessert with a few drinks prior to our concert. The speed of the service at the restaurant meant this did not happen, and also meant we spent less money on your establishment due to shockingly poor service. Whilst staff were polite they were not overly helpful, they were also not offering basic Customer service such as supplying the table with cutlery and sauces without customers having to ask. My previous experience of P and P has always been positive, however based on this experience we would not...
Read more6 of us went on Saturday evening for some food whilst out celebrating a friends birthday.
We were seated quickly and our order was taken promptly, but after that it rapidly went downhill.
5 drinks arrived, but mine did not. I spoke to 3 people about my drink and waited patiently as they all told me it was en route. An hour later it arrived. AN HOUR! All food had arrived before my drink did! We’d ordered water for the table too and if that had arrived I’d maybe have been more chill, but it didn’t. So on a boiling day, when my mouth was like Gandhi’s flip flop, I needed that drink.
There were no issues with the drinks after that and we enjoyed what we ordered throughout the night. The cherry bomb was an unexpected delight.
So the food was a disaster.
The nachos were served without cheese. They were sent back and cheese was added, but barely any. Isn’t that cheese pull the biggest pleasure when eating nachos? Not at P&P.
The tacos were fridge cold. Not cool. Not barely warm. Fridge cold!
The halloumi was like it was cooked an hour ago and left on the side.
The mac & cheese was embarrassing. I’m sure we’d all expect mac & cheese to be, well, cheesy. There was barely any cheese sauce on the pasta and it was dominated by the chorizo making it greasy.
The only dish Luke and I didn’t have an issue with was our chicken sliders. They weren’t the best, but they were hot and had a decent flavour.
We did complain and had our dishes promptly replaced and items removed from menu, so they handled it well, but there shouldn’t be so many issues with one order.
We aren’t averse to chains per se, but this kind of experience reminds us why we love independents who value their customers and care about what they do.
💰we ended up paying about £30 pp, but that was with my long lost drink removed and several food...
Read moreOur bottomless brunch experience with Zee was nothing short of revolutionary — a true uprising against the tyranny of mediocre service! From the moment we sat down, Zee embodied the spirit of Snowball: intelligent, enthusiastic, and endlessly hardworking. Just like the windmill plans, she had a vision — and that vision was bottomless joy.
The prosecco flowed as freely as the promises of Animal Farm’s early days, but unlike Napoleon’s regime, Zee’s hospitality was built on fairness and care. She was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and our needs were always met. If there was ever a commandment of brunch, Zee followed it to the letter: “All guests are equal, but those with empty glasses are served first.”
Despite the bustling crowd, Zee never faltered — a true Boxer in spirit, her motto might as well have been, “I will brunch harder.” And while the plates kept coming and the drinks never stopped, her warm personality and humor made the experience even more delightful.
In the end, Zee gave us a brunch experience that lived up to the early ideals of Animal Farm — a perfect vision of equality, abundance, and happiness. We left with full bellies, light hearts, and a newfound respect for those who work so hard to keep the dream of the perfect brunch alive.
Long live Zee — the true hero of the...
