First positive thing - if you’re a group, this place is good for satisfying people who are celiac, vegetarian or monitoring their daily calorie intake.
However, there were some things that went wrong during our night when it comes to SERVICE - like: (a) drink order - we could think that the waitress was trying to trick us into buying the wine which is triple the price, (b) seating - the table next to us was still full with dirty dishes from the previous bigger group, (c) utensils - were delivered to our table only after the food and only after we pointed this out to the waiter), (d) glassware - just brought to our table in a bulk and staked in tower causing a beer garden experience. All these minor details we were ready to overlook and don’t bother, until - we were faced with the bigger issue which is -
(!) Engagement with customers - once the food was delivered at our table - I think maybe only one out of 4-5 waiters checked on us. When we were obviously done with the food - no one approached us and asked if we would like to order drinks or something else from the menu. We learned way later that the kitchen is closed, but we were genuinely not informed. We did try to get their attention by waving at the staff, but they still did not approach our table. One of us took the initiative to approach the manager and tell that we would like to order - from there things went down the hill… One new waitress (which we did not see around for the full night) rushed to our table out of nowhere and called one of us “disgusting” and that our “behavior is disgusting”. Rest of us had to calm her down to understand where she was coming from, what happened, why… Once she calmed down - she flipped her notepad and asked what we would like to order. Originally we wanted to order more drinks and dessert (meaning, double the income from our table on that night), but genuinely changed our plan and asked for a bill and way out instantly.
On our way out, assume, shift manager, was standing at the reception desk with our back (FYI - when customers are departing, it’s a common practice to turn around and wave them out) - we took the courage to approach him and give an instant feedback and maybe leave the night with “no hurt feelings”, but to my surprise - he was not even capable of solving the conflict, de-escalate the situation or even give a “fake apology on behalf of his staff” for calling us names.
Recommendation to the restaurant staff - please please please do not offend your customers. We were of course slightly agitated by minor details in service level, but did not offend anyone intentionally individually. To this day I’m puzzled about what level of “disgusting” we are talking about? We were not drunk, we consumed our food with a knife and fork, did not puke on the table, we were decently dressed, did not damage any of your plates, glasses etc., we did not physically/inappropriately touch or harm any of your staff.
Our group has travelled the world and collected the experience from low to high end restaurants, but this was the first time ever when we were called names and personally insulted. I do not believe the “customer is always right” approach, hence we will of course do our homework and reflect our behavior and expectations towards mid range restaurants. In the meantime, maybe the recommendation to the restaurant management - please invest in your people and train them on how to (1) work in customer facing industry, (2) how to deal with “difficult” customers who would like to order food and spend money, (3)resilience and response in difficult situations and (4)for senior members of the crew how to de-escalate conflicts caused the wider staff.
When we booked the table - you were informed that it's for a birthday celebration and all we wanted was to have a nice/calm night out. Unfortunately this is one star review. I hope you do understand and can accept this.
Thank you & wishing you all the best...
Read moreI recently visited lost and found where I was served by a remarkable woman named Zarina, and I must say that my experience there was nothing short of exceptional. Zarina’s service and the overall atmosphere of the bar have left a lasting impression on me, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts in this review.
To begin with, Zarina is a petite woman who exudes warmth and professionalism. Although she appears to be of Muslim background, she does not wear a headscarf, which is often associated with the faith. This is worth mentioning only because it speaks to the diversity and individuality of the people working at the bar, and it’s always refreshing to see that people are free to express themselves in ways that feel most authentic to them. Zarina’s friendly demeanor and welcoming smile instantly made me feel at ease as I entered the bar.
One of the most notable aspects of my interaction with Zarina was her attentiveness and willingness to go above and beyond, particularly in accommodating my needs. I have a disability that can sometimes make navigating social environments a bit challenging, but Zarina made sure that I was comfortable from the moment I arrived. She took the time to assist me in finding a suitable seat, making sure that I was settled in a spot that would allow me to enjoy my time without any discomfort or inconvenience.
When it came to the service itself, Zarina was exceptional. She was knowledgeable about the bar’s offerings and was able to recommend a drink that perfectly suited my taste preferences. Her understanding of the menu and her ability to tailor her suggestions to individual customers was impressive, and it showed that she genuinely cares about providing a personalized experience. Throughout the evening, Zarina was attentive without being intrusive, checking in at just the right moments to ensure that I was enjoying my drink and the atmosphere of the bar.
One thing that particularly stood out to me was how Zarina managed to balance her responsibilities while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude. The bar was moderately busy that evening, yet Zarina handled the demands of the job with grace and efficiency. She moved quickly between customers, always with a smile on her face, and it was clear that she took pride in her work. Her ability to maintain such a high level of service, even during busier periods, is a testament to her skills and dedication.
Moreover, Zarina’s demeanor created a welcoming atmosphere that enhanced the overall experience at the bar. She engaged in light conversation, making sure that every customer felt valued and appreciated. It’s not often that you come across a bartender who can strike the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness, but Zarina did just that. Her presence added a sense of warmth and community to the bar, which made my time there all the more enjoyable.
Overall, my experience at the bar, thanks to Zarina, was fantastic. Her attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine care for her customers made a significant difference in my evening. As someone with a disability, I greatly appreciated her willingness to accommodate my needs without making me feel singled out or uncomfortable. Zarina’s service was truly outstanding, and I would highly recommend this bar to anyone looking for a welcoming and enjoyable experience.
If you ever find yourself in the area and in need of a drink, I highly suggest paying a visit to this bar and hoping that Zarina will be there to serve you. Her dedication to her work and her ability to make every customer feel special is something that sets her apart, and it’s the reason why I’ll be returning to this bar in the future. Zarina is a true asset to the establishment, and I’m grateful for the wonderful experience...
Read moreWe recently booked a table for 17 guests to celebrate my sister’s 60th birthday—a special day made even more meaningful following the recent loss of our mother. We did everything we could to make the occasion memorable: we decorated the room, brought expensive cakes, and made sure every detail was arranged ahead of time, including sending in a detailed pre-order. Sadly, what should have been a joyful day became memorable for all the wrong reasons.
Let me first say that our server, Abi, was the only redeeming part of the experience. She was polite, attentive, and did her very best under incredibly difficult circumstances—especially given she’d only been there four weeks and was managing a party of 17 entirely on her own. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff and especially the management failed her, and us, completely.
Service & Drinks: From the outset, it was clear there were going to be problems. We ordered drinks, but three different servers brought them out with no clarity on what was being served. No one could confirm whether drinks were alcoholic or non-alcoholic, and guests were left guessing. This level of disorganisation is unacceptable for a large pre-booked group.
Food Service: Despite submitting a full pre-order with names and dietary requests (e.g., well-done eggs or steak), the food took over an hour to arrive. When it finally did, staff had no idea who the dishes were for, nor did they know how they were cooked. As a result: • One guest received burnt, cold steak and eggs that were overcooked despite being asked for medium-well. • One guest never received her meal at all. • Another meal had such poorly cooked eggs that the guest refused to eat it. • Multiple people reported cold waffles and dry salmon. • There was no salt or pepper on the table. • Around 90% of the meals were served cold.
By the time the food came, people were so hungry and fed up, they didn’t even bother complaining—though they had every right to.
Billing Issues: The final insult came with the bill. Only 13 guests had bottomless brunch at £35 per person (total: £455). I had already paid a £100 deposit, bringing the subtotal to £355. One guest ordered from the à la carte menu (approx. £23), and there were extra sides (£18), meaning the total should have been around £396–£400 at most.
Instead: • The first bill came to £595. • The second was £535. • After over an hour of discussions, we finally got it down to £430, simply to be done with it.
The most frustrating part? Not once did the manager come over to help resolve the situation. All responsibility was unfairly placed on Abi, who did the best she could. The lack of support and leadership from the management was appalling and completely unprofessional.
⸻
Conclusion: I am deeply disappointed. I did everything right: I pre-ordered, paid the deposit, and arrived on time. The restaurant, on the other hand, failed at nearly every step—except for Abi, who deserves recognition for holding things together as best she could.
Unfortunately, I will not return and will be sharing this experience on review platforms so that others can make informed decisions. I sincerely hope the management reflects on how badly this was handled and takes immediate steps to ensure no one else has to go through...
