We visited on Friday 30th of August 2024 just after lunch time. We were having a date day for my partner's birthday.
We were greeted as soon as we walked in, which is such a lovely way to welcome guests. Upon checking in, the first host we met seemed so genuinely interested in talking to us, which was matched by all the hosts we came into contact with at the venue.
We were taken to our oche, and walked through how to play. Once we were set, we both commented on how gorgeous the decor was, how relaxed the hosts made us feel and the good vibe we already had for the place.
Games were straightforward, we really enjoyed demolition and snakes and ladders! The photo feature and action replay is amazing. What a touch! We are SO excited to receive ours some time today.
We had a few drinks including cocktails and they were all YUM! We were able to have an extension on our time as there was a small gap after us which was welcomed. I told the host that it was my partners birthday today, and to our surprise, two hosts came back with a warm 'birthday brownie' and sang happy birthday to my partner. Honestly, we are so impressed with the way the hosts treat the guests. So refreshing, so comforting and so impressive. The management must be extremely happy with their team! I can only apologise for not getting the names of the three we dealt with. I could give descriptions to help!
Anyway, when out time came to an end, we were packing up and taking a photo and one of the hosts saw, came over and offered to take on of us. Again, such an awareness of guests. I will say, the venue wasn't empty, or quiet. There were plenty of other guests, demonstrating such investment in maintaining this great atmosphere!
We left wishing we had even longer and are talking about planning another visit to Birmingham to get some more Flight Club fun!
I hope this is seen by the hosts and that they know how impressed we are.

Read moreWe have been visiting Flight Club Birmingham from the very beginning when it first opened. Unfortunately, we have seen a gradual decline in it's customer services approach! When it first opened, we could go in as a couple and quite easily play darts. Then over time we have found this increasingly more and more difficult as the company now only seem to welcome large groups. We are now finding it more difficult to book for 4 of us, and this is no longer possible after 3pm.
It seems that the company only want to book large groups who spends lots of money. But even though there is only 4 of us, we do all eat food and drink cocktails and our bill is always around the £300 mark...but it seems that they want even more than this and we are not regarded as big enough spenders to be afforded the opportunity to book a game of darts!
The other thing to be wary of, is that they try their very hardest to persuade you not to book food and drinks from the app. We did this yesterday and the Manager came over to our table and asked us not to, and to instead press the button to call waiting staff. What he fails to tell you is that booking from the App incurs zero service charge, but when pressing the button (to call over a server) this incurs a 12% service charge. I like to leave a £10 tip, and I do not like to leave a 12% tip as this feels like I am being dictated to.
I would like to say though that the staff (including the Manager who came over to us) are exceptional and if I could afford to pay them 12% I would. £10 cash though is enough in my opinion.
Brilliant place - shame that smaller groups are no longer really welcome though. But if you're luckily enough to have a group of friends of 6 or more all available on the same night - go for it....you wont be...
Read moreWe visited Flight Club as part of a 2 day team event in Birmingham. It did not disappoint! I think we had around 40 people joining in. Our host, Ty, was just brilliant. He did a great job of keeping us all entertained, knowing what we were doing and who was playing where, and just generally getting - and more importantly, keeping - the atmosphere going!
All of the staff were fabulous. I’ve never been somewhere with staff so on the ball in terms of clearing glasses, sweeping up dropped food, etc. They were all incredibly friendly, and were always smiling too.
The food looked and smelled amazing - I’m told by everyone in the team who were all eating (I wasn’t) that it was really good. All allergens were catered for and highlighted on the trays.
The darts itself was great fun. We played several different darts games, in team head to heads. A couple of things to be aware of if you’re going - the darts are super light (I usually play with 23g darts but these were much lighter than that), and you can’t use your own. Also, there are 3 different starting lines on the ground - the Pro line is the one you want if you have played darts before, that’s the standard length you’ll find in a pub etc. I made the mistake of standing at the regular line thinking that was the right distance….. mind you, if you want an excuse for playing as badly as I did you could always say how the darts were too light, and you realised you were too close!
All in all a great night. Definitely somewhere I would recommend, and I’d love to visit again sometime.
I mentioned him earlier, but I would like to call out Ty again as someone deserving of going “above and...
