Morrisons Cafe — Restaurant in Bolton

It's getting worse! The atmosphere isn't great and on entering the store your greeted by multiple security staff lurking in the foyer, the layout is poor and outdated compared to most Morrisons.

The Café: Primary reason was for hot food, we ordered two meals the roast chicken dinner and the ultimate fish and chips with two coffee's.

Problem 1 - Coffee machines not working and not expected to work for the rest of the day. Problem 2 - Massive lack of CLEAN cutlery - no teaspoons, minimal amount of knives and forks with many visibly dirty. Corrected by insisting the counter assistant provided clean. Problem 3 - No sauces, vinegar is in shared bottles passed around tables - there is NO means to decontaminate the bottle before you handle it.

Tables: When cleared they are not cleaned or wiped - the used items are removed but the table left in a very dirty condition unless you insist somebody cleans it.

Food quality: The ultimate fish & chips, there is nothing ultimate about it, it's small with a very small pot of chips and a tasteless pot of mushy peas. The roast chicken dinner came with a decent amount of chicken, the carrots however we like little weapons they were that hard!

Overall there's a lot of work to be done to get anywhere near acceptable, the staff do not appear overly concerned with the presentation or cleanliness. Worth noting that the café here does not produce any points on...

Sunday, 26th of September, 2022. Spurred on by the large advert outside Morrisons Atlas Mill branch, showing the 'ultimate' breakfast, as I came into town on the bus, I called in this central shop's cafe. The word 'ultimate' is puzzling - to what does it apply? 'Ultimate' breakfast was served as follows: Breakfast came within two minutes - a very bad sign, Egg snotty, Baked beans lukewarm, Slices of black pudding warmish, Small, thin slices of bacon scraggy and barely cooked, Hash browns warmish, Sausages lacklustre and not mad hot, Half tomato still hard and undercooked, Fried bread revolting as though dipped in and out of hot fat (oil?) quickly, Two reasonably sized mushrooms barely warm. All in all poor, but I was hungry and picked at the offering. Coffee (alleged 'cappuccino') suffering from no proper froth (probably lack of maintenance on machine). No mustard available for black pudding?!? The young lady was very polite and efficient at the till. Ah...

disappointed I remember when I got better portions for my money for example beef lasagne used to be the size of your plate now it's the size of a packet of morrisons sliced ham but twice as expensive! the chips clearly are there own brand but used to go on the plate now there little tiny metal cups to get the same amount you would have get extra chips at 2 quid on top of what I'm already paying, the fish they do has never change there still the same size but nearly 7 quid it's a shame tho used to love eating here but times are hard now sorry morrisons my local...
