AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Normally on weekdays you can book tables prior to coming. So I called in at 18.40 to book table for 6 for 19.00. I was told by james theres no need to book a table as it was pretty empty. I confirmed I will be there in 20 minute and make sure the table is ready as I had friends from abroad whom I was treating. Upon reaching there a few minutes before 7 I was told that we're sorry there is a minimum 35 minutes wait. I explained to them that I've already called in but the girl on the entrance who didn't give her name said there's no space and that James is busy and not available right now. This was humiliating in front of my guests. The sad thing was as we sat round the corner waiting we could see many empty tables. Yes these were for 4 people but how long does it take to put 2 tables together. I then asked them to please let me place my order so i dont have to wait for long once my table is available. I was told no orders can be taken before a table number is allocated. The manner I was dealt with it was like they just didn't care. After 45 minutes we finally got a table. I ordered a chicken platter and wing roulette for my family and for my guests I ordered 2 chicken burgers, halloumi cheese and 2 livers. I was told at the till that there is a 20 minute wait for the burgers. I confirmed with my guests and they were ok to wait. After 10 minutes the halloumi cheese arrived. Then after a further 15 minutes the chicken burgers arrived. I asked my guests to please start and not wait for us. I'm happy I did because even after a further 20 minutes our food didn't arrive. I then called one of the staff and asked them what is happening as I was told there's a 20 minute wait on the burgers only and it's 45 minutes and I've not even had our chicken order. She went to the cooking area and returned within a few minutes with our order. The chicken and wings were Luke warm and the Livers were more cold than warm. When I mentioned this to the staff she said I'm sorry for the delay and walked of. This was the first and last time I will be visiting this branch of nandos. Normally I go to the middlebrook branch which has been 100% spot on every time. Seriously disappointing and humiliating experience.

Read moreOrdered a telephone collection order to the tune of 39.00 I ordered the food and was advised half an hour for collection (so far so good ) Half an hour later I went to Nandos at the vaults in Bolton I advised the staff of it being a telephone order and paid the agreed amount 39.00 The young lady behind the counter asked me to take a seat whilst she preoared my order On sitting un the waiting area I noticed an order for collection already waiting and thought I hope thats mine 20 minutes later im watching a young girl prepare the side salad i ordered Picking up the salad using her fingers as i wasnt 100 percent certain it was my order that was being prepared i chose not to stick my oar in and query their food hygene standards as either tongs or gloves to handle the food would have been more appropriate When a member of staff broyght the order to me i challenged her on the food hygene standards and asked was it common practice to handle food without tongs or gloves The response i was given shocked and appaulled me She replied yes we always do that with the side orders the tongs are for the grills and cooking i pointed out she must be aware of food hygene as she runs a nandos which she agreed she did She then said there is a sink where staff can wash their hands Or she could go and put gloves on if 'I' wanted I was absolutely flabbergasted at the blasè attitude from such a well known Brand I pointed out regardless of whether she can wash her hands i have no idea what her staff had been doing directly before handling the food and there was a concern of contamination On realising i wasnt really getting anywhere voicing my concerns over the hygene issues I left I got home to find the food was cold due to sitting for so long when i was waiting to collect There was an item missing from the order (mash) The childrens food wasnt plain as requested but spicy And the plain burger for my partner ...she found inedible If this is standard fayre served up in Nandos Bolton AVOID AVOID AVOID it was the worst 39.00 i have ever had the misfortune to spend On a separate matter my chicken breast was over cooked and dry Absolutely awful food I have since had to come out of the house again and go to mcdonalds to 'treat' my kids to a take out meal They at least got hot edible food they enjoyed Never will i ever be...
Read moreI visited this place for the first time with my family and the level of hygiene in preparation of the food was shocking. I ordered a mushroom pitta and when we went to pay, we witnessed a member of staff preparing a pitta with her bare hands, no gloves, and holding it in her palms and stuffing all ingredients, again with her hands. She wiped her hands about 3 times on her apron. I complained about this and the manager came to talk to me, I explained what we had seen and she said that they have a vigorous hand washing system where the staff wash their hands continuously. I replied that they may wash their hands, but the apron isn’t washed vigorously! God knows what food and germs could be transmitted from the apron to the customer’s food. The manager didn’t know what to say about this and said she will give this feedback where needed. The whole incident put me off my food and subsequently I cancelled my order of the pitta. I find it disgusting that staff prepare food without gloves and wipe their hands on their aprons which they have on all day, not to mention the sweat off their palms while preparing food in a hot environment, this is cross contamination at its worst! Nando’s leave a lot to be desired for when it comes to hygiene and I certainly would NEVER go to Nando’s again, I’d rather have Subway, where the staff change their gloves after each preparation of food.
