I came to this Wetherspoon's with my family on 28/07/25. My son was served half frozen chicken nuggets. He took one bite and spat it out saying it was cold. I felt the middle of the chicken nugget and it was freezing. We immediately told a member of staff and he apologised and offered to bring more chicken nuggets out. Unfortunately my son did not want any more chicken nuggets as he was totally put off. He is only 5 and has ADHD and autism and chicken nuggets are one of his safe foods. I explained to the staff that my son was put off eating anything else, so they just refunded us for the chicken nuggets. Later that night my son started to feel sick and actually threw up. I contacted Wetherspoon's customer service and they decided to do an investigation. We've just received the report back today that stated "During the investigation, our independent retail auditors examined the premises’ temperature records, including all of the due-diligence records. We can report that no anomalies were noted." So it seems the incident was not logged and management are trying to sweep it under the rug. The member of staff we spoke to confirmed they were half frozen and said he'd spoken to the kitchen staff about it and gave us an apology. I don't like how I'm being made out to be a liar. It's not my fault that your incompetent staff are incapable of logging incidents like this on their records so they can cover their own backs. We absolutely will not be returning to this particular...
Read moreMy spirit is one with nature, from the deepest sand beneath the oceans through to the furthest forest my soul flows. Even though I am one with nature I have no roots. I am a traveller. Always have been. The winds guide me, pulling me ever towards the horizon. Following the brightest star, searching for a new sunrise.
Until I grew weary...
I fell upon the stone steps of the Spinning Mule. Weak and broken, I had all but given up. Until I heard a warm voice, the voice of an Irishman. Dave. He taught me the ways of 3 small plates for £10.95. I can never repay him.
Next, a raven haired queen, Helen. With all knowledge of the contents of 2 for only £10 pitchers, I drifted into the abyss of her warmth. For who wouldn't?.
Third, a prince among men, Dan. A man whose bartending intellect and skill could put even the most experienced bartender to shame. He resides in the kitchen displaying his culinary expertise. His greatest skills stay dormant, as he remains humble, yet powerful.
The fourth, perhaps the darkest of the four. His skills lay not within the realm of physical, tangible things. It lay within his devilish charm, his way with words, his debonair style and finesse. A wink, a smile a few sharp words from him and you were his. His name? A name that echoes in my head, and I hope will remain. Seb.
The other staff were lovely too, food was made in good time, tables could have been wiped more...
Read moreGood value for money but don't expect the best food you've ever had. A large menu with lots of offers with drinks etc. But I was disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options. There are one or two in most categories but given the number of dishes I would have expected more. The menu is quite confusing at first glance but once you've established which type of food you fancy, ie. Pizza, burger, traditional/classic etc. you can then hone in on that section and decide what type of drink and size and extras etc. I must admit I struggled to find out the cost without a drink as we'd already got our drinks before we ordered, so we did end up ordering another round, which I suppose is what they want. I had the Mediterranean salad with extra halloumi cheese and roasted vegetables and I was very disappointed as the halloumi was very pale with no colour at all, I like mine browned, and was almost cold and I could hardly find the roasted vegetables, just the odd tiny square of sweet pepper, definitely not worth paying the extra. My partner had the plant based burger and loved it. I tasted a bit of it and it just tasted like meat, which I didn't like. If you're a newly converted vegetarian and miss meat, you'll love it. We shared a salted caramel sticky toffee pudding with custard and it was heaven. Sorry about the photos but I forgot to take them before we started eating, and completely forgot about...
