Another branch another blunder.
Perhaps I'm being unreasonable and expecting too much from a place that charges £7-8 starting for a burger meal. Things like 'basic order comprehension', 'order amendments' among other classic values of eateries across the globe. I've had my fair share of issues with Frankie's in the past (see my review history) but it's unfortunate to see the same mistakes make their way to the Bradford branch.
Regarding the food I ordered on this occasion: Tasty, fulfilling, decent portion, generally satisfying.
The service? Where to start?
I asked for a Moody Angus burger and asked if a chicken fillet/grilled breast could be added to the burger and was swiftly delivered a hard no. Perplexing, as Frankies offer a Double Whammy burger where they do just that but screw consistency.
My next request was if the regular fries could be switched for sweet potato fries, (a 21p markup which I was willing to pay from the included house fries). I was given a response in the affirmative and left perplexed when I saw a £2 separate order was added to my receipt along with the meal.
When questioned why this was the case and explaining that I wanted the sweet potato INSTEAD of the regular fries, the waitress cancelled the order of the regular fries, even though I was still charged for them.
I wont bore you with the details but we probably went through a similar loop 2-3 times before we left the order as is, still under the impression that I'd receive my meal as it was on the receipt.
The second waitress then had the gall to tell me that it was clear what I was asking for; that I wanted sweet potato fries but wasn't prepared to pay for it... (yes, really). Haven't been quite this gobsmacked since I heard a friend receive chicken meatballs with his spaghetti.
I explained that I don't think its extremely complicated to substitute a product for a higher value item and pay the difference. Apparently it is...
I haven't mentioned the eye rolling and sidewards glances at each other as if I was speaking a foreign language or asking for something unreasonable rather than to listen to the customer and maybe attempt to at least try to complete their role with some degree of competency.
All hope was lost when I found that inside the bag stood my burger, my sweet potato fries but not the regular fries which I had paid for but not received.
I ended my weekend with my mood lowered and my account £10 poorer.
In any case, it's truly disappointing to experience déjà vu with Frankies, soon-to-be Frankster's. Maybe they'll listen to the other reviews on their locations of similar poor experiences and do something about it at some point. Perhaps then i'll give them...

Have visited here a few times over the years and it's good to see it's been fairly consistent (hamburger images from 2023)
The restaurant is diner style with a calm casual vibe, you order, you get a buzzer which notifies you when your food is ready, and you enjoy, simplicity.
How's the food though?
I've returned a few times when I visit Bradford as I know it's a burger I'll enjoy, although the cost has crept up and today I was having second thoughts if I'd pay £12.49 for the double whammy meal (2 Angus and 1 chicken fillet in a single burger, small portion of chips and a drink and 2 dips) I feel like yes the quality is good and it's enjoyable but prices are touching on being too expensive. I have previous went while deals were on and it's a bargain, but today felt a burn in the pocket.
Why's the burger good? Brioche bun, smashed Patties, good sauces, and well put together, you are getting a decent burger, I've seen some complaints about the chicken fillets, mine was fine today, it was basically exactly the same taste as KFC fillet, which is just okay it's enjoyable but nothing mega. The beef itself felt a bit under seasoned and the flavour is relying on the sauces to make up for it. I'd say the burger itself is 3.7/5, it's not quite in the big leagues with smash burgers as lacks uniqueness and some flavour.
Chips are nice and crispy with soft potatoes inside, they are what I want and expect from a good burger place and meal, added with the peri salt on the counter, that was ADDICTING I almost ordered more fries.
Overall, I enjoy it here and I know what Im expecting, I'm yet to be disappointed and have brought friends here for lunch while working who seemed to enjoy as well, I'm concerned with increasing prices and lack of lunchtime deals, I couldn't justify spending 12.50 on the burger meal again, although it's good it should be £9.95 mark. Ā Ā Ā Read moreA lad working in Broadway who has used frankies sometimes as a daily lunch break. This isn't my first time having a bad day here, tbh I've had bad days in the past but I've also had good days here which in a way has made it up for me. I won't go into detail about every single day I've been here but over the past few years I've been here I've had problems such as employees are rude/unprofessional, food has come out wrong or cold but they've always tried to make the effort into changing it etc. Today first of all I did a phone order and as I walked in, I spoke to the lady on the tills who got my order wrong and also on phone I said eat in but she put it as a take out, she didn't apologise or gave any effort into helping another staff member into taking my food out etc. Secondly she was serving 'eat in' food there which meant the food came on plates and not boxes as takeout, while waiting for customers to approch the tills or her helping out else where she was stood there touch her phone, hair, nose and then didn't here wash her hands. I spoke to her manager or so called guy in charge, he acknowledged me and spoke to her and 10mins later she's doing the same thing. When it gets quiet I understand phones can come out and you might touch your hair if your a lady and sort things out but please wash your hands after š¤®, it's common sense especially while working in a restaurant/takeaway. A few months back this is the same employee I made a complaint about and on this day she cleaned the tables using some cleaning equipment and then she went back into the office to put the cleaning equipment away and straight on tills started customers and at the space of all that I was sat eating and...
