Myself & my partner have been coming to this coffee shop for sometime, but unfortunately after today’s experience which appears to be a recent change of ownership/ management, we no longer feel comfortable visiting and wouldn’t recommend this place.
We recently moved into the area and decided to visit a few of our local favourites. I’d picked up pastries and a takeout coffee on route to tambourine and arrived at the shop with an empty cup and a brown paper bag. My partner ordered a coffee while I sat down, my intention was to order breakfast and a coffee.
Unfortunately the Manager delivered my partners coffee to our table whilst pointing out that I had products from other businesses with me, accusing me of being rude for bringing them on their premises.
Feeling uncomfortable, we left for a moment and decided to return to speak with the assistant to relay our experience. During which the manager that had originally approached us said ‘This is going to be a long conversation’ and then laughed at us as we left.
We felt bad for the assistant who clearly also felt uncomfortable and apologised to us. We understand that a coffee shop would be protective about their territory, but this does not make for a welcoming atmosphere and there are much better ways to address these things without making customers feel uncomfortable.
It’s with regret that we wouldn’t want to return or recommend this place as the values it once held appear...
Read moreHow coffee is supposed to be!! What a breath of fresh air after the few terrible experiences we've had lately.
I had a decaf latte, my partner an decaf oat flat white. My latte was perfect (and I don't use that word often!) - not too hot so it still had that gorgeous sweetness to the milk, excellent texture ie not too frothy or too thin, the strength was spot on (nice and strong) and it tasted amazing despite being decaf which can be very hit-and-miss. Super impressed. My partner's coffee was just as good in all those ways.
The cheesecake brownie was also insanely good - such a massive piece for the price, so tasty, gooey, chocolatey, with huge slabs of delicious chocolate throughout, best I've ever ever had. My partner's (huge!) peanut butter and jam flapjack was also good, slightly dry but still very very tasty.
Vibes inside we're super chill, scandi, zen, hipster, light, clean etc etc - all the stuff we're into. We sat outside on the street as it was such a hot day, lovely place to watch the world go by.

Read moreI’m tempted to say that this is the only speciality coffee shop in the area? The overall experience was good. Nice ambience, a good amount of seating and overall, a light and spacious feel considering the size of the shop. Coffee is good. The barista is obviously competent pulling a good shot for my flat white and texturing the milk nicely. It’s not quite up there with the best coffee shops in Leeds but easily the best in Bradford if you want non commercial coffee. The cake selection was limited. We opted for a chocolate cookie which was pleasant. Service was fine. I would like to know more about the coffee that’s being served, so perhaps a board with some info and a guest espresso would make a nice addition so customers have some level of choice. One thing I would suggest, don’t start shutting shop before the stipulated time, I could see other customers noticing this as well. I think overall, this is a decent option if you want to move away from the likes of Costa and Starbucks and have a more authentic...
