*After acknowledging the venue's response, I see we are not talking about the same event. No one was forced to leave at the event I am talking about, the DJs were all professionals whom I have seen play around europe... nor did anyone turn 60! Which means similar things happen regularly to what I report. Not impressed.
I came recently for a friends birthday and was left so disappointed by the end of the night.
The biggest issue was one of my friends being assulted by a member of security.
My friend does not use illegal substances and at the time of the event he was suffering with a cold. A security member heard him in the toilet sniffing and blowing his nose and upon leaving the cubical he was physically assulted and demanded to hand over drugs!!! A normal proceedure would see the suspicious member being escorted without force to an area where a supervised search would take place. This member of security chose to take him by the shirt and slam him against the wall!!!
When this was brought up later, the security were very quick to say this was not possible because there was CCTV everywhere- in hindsight and after research we found it is non-compliant to have CCTV in toilets- hence why this security member got away with this assult.
The club itself looks like it could be an amazing underground music venue! Unfortunately many things let this down.
The soundsystem is appalling. Badly engineered and potentially harmful to the ears.
The bar staff were seemingly untrained, argumentative and made lots of our drinks incorrectly- which we had to accept and pay for. I assume their manager heavily penalises them for mistakes? They all seemed quite young.
Then there was this very strange system where in order to get to the room of the birthday we had to walk straight through the middle of the dancefloor of someone elses party. This was annoying for everyone, rude for some people and also just ruined the vibe/flow of that dancefloor.
Im being polite by giving it 2 stars to be honest. I personally think this place needs...
Read moreI have ran many events for the last 25 or so years but....On Saturday the 14th January 2023...This was my very first time I had run an event at @ Basement 45 and worked with this club and the club owner and It's staff
After my event I told the club owner like I will tell you now....There are probably about only 3 club owners in my entire years of running events that I have worked with that are A. So truly professional..... B. So super helpful, friendly and accommodating and.... C. So ridiculously honest and transparent about the deal you strike with the club!
My events bring nothing but 100's of happy smiling faces to my parties and what's massively important to me is, along side the cooperation of the club owner is... The club staff, the doormen, the manager, the bar staff and everything else in between and, on the night I can give them nothing but absolute praise beyond belief!!! Simply Outstanding!!!
Any issues I had on the night were sorted out immediately enabling my event to continue running smoothly and even my crowd were so grateful and thankful of just how friendly the staff were and made them feel so comfortable and continuously fed back to me about how amazing the place was.
Big thanks to Mark the Owner and Chris the Bar manager and all the Bar staff and doormen you guys who all helped and contributed to helping my crowd to create so many happy memories from my night and for that I cannot thank you enough and I cannot wait to work with you all again in the very near future
Thank you for everything you guys do so...
Read moreIn the past two weeks I have visited Basement45 three times as it is a cheap party venue where you don't have to pay anything if you make the money back in drinks. The venue inside is pretty gross and way too hot with a weird set up, but alright venue for a party. However the way the staff treated the guests was ridiculous. If you hadn't made enough money at the bar then they instantly changed their attitude to mean and nasty. The bouncers chucked people out by their necks when the night was ending 2 hours later but they just wanted to go home. They were not letting people back in if they had a drink outside which is fair enough as that is illegal but not having any notices and not telling people on their way out was rather unfair. Furthermore last night, a guest was wrongly accused of stealing the DJ equipment, he was just drunkily touched the decks once, anyway the bouncers who had been watching a certain group of boys - who really wouldn't ever steal - grabbed this guy by his arms and legs, dropping him a few times and threw him out the club, anyway this guy gets knocked out, Basement 45 did nothing to help this person who was unconscious on the floor surrounded by blood. Disgusting behaviour from the staff and especially the bouncers. WOULD NOT...
