Joe's Kebab — Restaurant in Bristol

Absolutely appalling service. I have ordered from here before with no issue, but will not be ordering from here again after this evening. I ordered my food at 6ish and the delivery was estimated at 7:45 so when 7:45 came along and my order still hadn’t arrived, I attempted to reach out over just eat but the number was invalid. So I googled the number and when someone answered, he told me the driver had left my food outside my house because I had not answered my phone. I had been waiting by my front door for my food as I live in a 5 story town house, and not once did someone ring my bell (that rings through the whole house) I opened my front door whilst on the phone and behold, my food had been sat there for god knows how long but now stone cold. I asked the guy on the phone if his manager was available, and he said he was in charge (funny because five minutes into our heated conversation, he said his boss was standing right in front of him) I tried to explain to the guy on the phone, that I had been waiting for my food near my front door and no one had rang the bell. I asked if I could please have another order sent to my house as my food was now cold, and the man said he will come to my house with another order but if he can prove the driver rang my mobile, then he will take the order and leave. I told the man that I did have a missed call on my phone, but regardless we were still in the same situation where the driver did not attempt to contact me in any other way and that if he would’ve rang my door bell I would’ve heard him. When I asked why the driver didn’t ring my door bell, multiplied occasions he ignored me. (Probably because he didn’t have an answer) I told the guy on the phone that I’d appreciate another order being sent to me as the driver made no other attempt at contacting me other than 1 missed call, which I think is just appalling. He could have text me, rang again, rang the bell, knocked… The man eventually said “just leave us a 0 star review then.” And that’s when I hung up on him. Phone etiquette was terrible, customer service was terrible. An apology was not offered. Don’t order from here, they clearly have no respect for the people paying for their food and offered no jester of good will at all. Just eat only offered me half of what I paid which was better than what Joes offered. Im not surprised that they have so many 1* reviews. The man on the phone said they were too busy to send me another order, and that if I wanted to pay for another one then they would send me another kebab. I originally ordered a kebab and salad. Love these guys. Truly one of the most reliable spots in Bristol. I feel like no matter what stupid time my drunk ass wobbles down East Street these guys are always open, and every time I pop my head in and ask 'still serving?' and I am told with kindness and grace 'yes, brother. We will help you.' As for the scran, can't go wrong with a classic doner kebab here. What I like about these guys is they throw the strips of doner onto the grill for a bit after shivving it off the spit - makes for a really nice crispiness around the edges. And you know you're getting that with the garlic mayo AND the chilli sauce which is some of the nicest around. I actually moved into Bedminster about a year ago and was worried if it would work out or not and whether I'd find my feet, and then at one point in the summer I ended up going to play tennis with some new friends I'd made at my new job, and we went for drinks afterwards, and I walked home in the sun a few pints deep and hadn't had dinner so stopped in Joe's for one of the kebabs I'd just described, and as I was eating it along North Street I felt this amazing quiet joy, like an old happiness buried long ago had suddenly found its way to the surface, and it felt like I had just landed for the first time into the rest of my life. afew months ago i ordered online for home delivery i was waiting for over an hour so decided to phone them to ask where my order was ,i phoned a landline and mobile and nobody was answering,in the end we had to drive down to the shop,they were full of apologies and was just going to give me a free bottle of coke ,in the end they gave me a 50% discount.i was not happy with the service. afew weeks ago i ordered again,this time the food arrived ,there was no mayo or sauce on the kebabs and my garlic bread was missing,i phoned them and they apologised and sent the driver back with pots of sauce and garlic bread which was pointless as we had nearly eaten the food by the time he arrived they said they would send me a voucher towards my next order,never heard from them again. i have used joes alot over the last 20 yrs when joe was there,never had any issues,the food isnt as nice there now and the...
