I want to put this review out, because I really think this place has the potential to be much nicer than it is and it’s in a great location. Firstly the atmosphere can be lovely, the design, the seats and open seating really fits the smoothie and health conscious feeling aha. Some of the employees are quite friendly whilst others like this Australian man once was quite mean and another time this girl served two men their stuff when I had ordered ten minutes before and was still waiting. However, I understand working isn’t a nice experience and there’s so many reasons somebody can act a way.
My main concern is that the açai is not açai, I bought a £9 bowl which is already very very expensive, and to my surprise this was a banana and strawberry smoothie, there is no açai taste and this is obvious by the colour too. To charge £9 for a smoothie which is made out of largely frozen fruit that is not acai and top it with peanut butter and a few fruits is really unfair in my opinion, particularly in a student area. Please put more açai berries in your bowls, or market them as banana smoothie bowls instead and decrease the price. As paying £9 is usual for genuine açai but not for banana and strawberry smoothies. I genuinely feel robbed, and it makes me sad because £9 is a lot of money when youre a student, and I love actual acai.
I really hope you guys build on the criticism, however for now I won’t be visiting again anytime soon despite being a customer for over a year and religiously drinking your smoothies. The smoothies are tasty, however are also overpriced. Though this is not a scam, and customers can make their own decision on if they want to buy a £7 smoothie or not. Something being marketed as something its not however for £9 is not okay. The prices are unfair and the ingredients are disingenuousness, therefore I don’t want to try anything else for the time being unfortunately. I hope you guys change your acai recipe or change the disingenuous marketing for this product, additionally lowering your prices would drive your profit in a...
Read moreJuice Jar presents itself as a place where you can get healthy food and drinks however they are acting like a not so much focusing on health.
I order acai bowl. I asked how much calories it is because I haven't seen anywhere calories. Staff didn't know. On the website there is menu but without any information (what exactly included, how much macronutrients contains and you can't even order online). I thought it is a pretty standard thing to include calories in these days, specially for places like this.
My order was the only order in the queue however I waiting for 10 min. Staff took all ingredients for my acai bowl without gloves (no problem for me) but in the middle of that, a different customer came and asked to pour her own bottle of water. Staff took that bottle, pour the water, give it back to the customer and done the rest of preperation for my acai bowl without washing her hands. No, that's absolutely not fine thing to do.
I went downstairs and 3 out of 3 tables were dirty. I needed to go back to the ground floor and take tissues to clean the table by myself.
When my acai bowl was ready, I was surprised how much peanut butter it has and how much everything else was at the top of the bowl. 1/3 of the banana and a half of the strawberry and huge 2 tablespoons of peanut butter? I definitely wasn't expecting that in the place so much focusing on health. After eating the top part, I saw almost no oats at the bottom part of my bowl. Everything was super wattery and it felt like they haven't used only frozen fruits but also additional ice to add additional volume but I haven't seen how the whole process of making my meal.
At the top of that, coffee is ridicules expensive (£4.7 for the latter?) and to proof even more how they are not focusing that much on healthy, they are charging additional 30 p for the...
Read moreWe really enjoyed attending this place.
The person who took my order was really nice. She appeared to be in her early twenties and she had blonde hair. She also listened actively because I asked her not to put too much of a certain ingredient in my juice. There was a lot of ginger in it, which added a bit of a "kick" to it, but I liked it.
There were three people behind the counter and all of them looked friendly and they acted like they were having a good time. They clearly take pride in their work and had colossal amounts of energy and enthusiasm.
I recommend this place 100% because of the clean environment of the place, what it sells and the attitudes of the members of staff. Thank you so much for all of your...
