We went to the Saffron recently as part of the Bristol Food Connections festival during the weekend. We simply wanted to try it out and we were very few people. We were told that for a small dip or something similar we need to come Monday to Friday and also call and make a previous reservation, which we found a bit too much. There was a bit of space for us since a table just got free and we would have been more than happy to just stay outside or take something to go since nobody is interested to make a reservation for trying out a dip. We were treated very politely and we totally would have understood it if they had specified this explicitly in the rules of the ticket we bought, which wasn't the case. No point to blame the organizers of the tour since the same rules should apply to all venues and we had no issues anywhere else (we also went last year on a similar tour without such problems). My recommendation is that if you prefer to concentrate your attention on customers and not people on the tour, you shouldn't offer to be part of the event. In the end, the tour is meant to attract new customers and people to discover new exciting places where they would like to come again. None of us are now excited about coming there in the future and it's a bit sad since the organizers of the tour put a lot of effort in trying to make this such a fun and cool event...

We asked for a table for 4 but the woman who greeted us said nothing and walked away, we then watched another staff member carry some chairs in from the rain and were told to sit downstairs in the cold and FISHY smelling basement. The table was soaking wet so we couldn’t sit down but the waiter who said he’d be down to dry it went missing. After another staff member made an attempt to wipe the table with an already wet cloth we decided to go back upstairs, tragic. We then waited upstairs but were made to feel in the way. Eventually We had to ask to order and when our drinks arrived one had been made wrong (understandable in a busy cafe) but when asked to change it we were again made to feel like we were wrong to ask, we also saw the staff muttering about it (unpleasant) we then never received the drink but where still charged on the bill. Overall food great but the staff made us feel uncomfortable at every interaction will not...

The service was flawless. The team was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and eager to provide recommendations. Their genuine hospitality elevated the entire experience.
As for the food — simply extraordinary. Each dish was crafted with precision, layered with flavors that were both bold and harmonious. The ingredients tasted fresh and seasonal, and you can really tell the chef has a passion for what they create. Highlights of the meal included full English , which was bursting with flavor, and the goat cheese salad , cooked...
