Mercy Mercy Mercy (I’d be interested to know where the name came from) is a newly opened cafe that serves coffee, pastries, brunch and alcohol. The inside is nice albeit cramped so it fills up quite quickly. The service was good, however, from what I can tell food service doesn’t start till 11am, but the menu says 9am. The breakfast dishes and jaffles look really good and I will definitely come back to try them. For lunch I got the Rosti Burger, Fried Chicken Burger and the Tiramisu Milkshake. The Rosti burger was good and something interesting I haven’t seen before. The Fried Chicken burger was bland and the Tiramisu Milkshake was ok, I found it was lacking sweetness and needed to be a little colder, it was a little warm, though the shake was big and probably worth the price tag of £6.50. The prices for the burgers were a bit too high for what they were, £12.50 is a lot for a fairly small burger. So I’m not sure if I can recommend them. However, the breakfast dishes on the menu look really good (I saw other people’s orders) and so would probably recommend those. As of now, I would give it a tentative 3-stars, closer to 4 than to 2.

a vibrant, casual brunch spot with a youthful atmosphere that’s perfect for a relaxed meal. One of the best parts is the open kitchen, where you can see the chefs in action as they prepare your food. The coffee is excellent—definitely one of the highlights. However, the menu can be a bit of a gamble. I tried the za’atar mushrooms, but they tasted more like anise mushrooms, so be prepared for some surprises. On the downside, the croissants were a bit mediocre—nothing special in terms of flakiness or flavor. They weren’t as buttery or fresh as you’d hope for at a brunch cafe. Also, most dishes could use a touch more salt to bring out the flavors. Despite these small details, it’s a great place to unwind with friends over a good coffee and brunch. With a few improvements, it could easily be even better.

Had breakfast here recently on a weekend and it was a pleasant experience. Cheerful and friendly staff, welcoming you with a smile and warm greeting. I put premium on this because that starts the experiencd of the venue right. Food is fab and I absolutely love their Turkish Eggs (perfectly poached eggs with amazing garlic yoghurt sauce with sourdough bread), a certified palate pick-me-upper. I ordered mocha coffee too but it was a bit too creamy for me as I couldn't taste the coffee and chocolate (maybe I should have ordered an extra espresso shot?). The place was packed but it had a cozy, comfy feel to it.

When we arrived, no acknowledgment by the staff, we made our way to a table say, a member of staff came over and told us "we can't sit here because you had a dog" then to be corrected by the head chef who said we can, all good. We asked another member of staff if we order at the counter, he said, " I do not know and its not my job as I work in the kitchen, but I think there are menus by the door. So, got a menu from by the door, went to the counter, female member of staff saw that I was holding a menu and said "cant order food as the kitchen does not open until 11am" . We left, went next door to Saffron and spent £35 on breakfast, their service was on point. Note to the Owner: your staff were rude and un-accommodating, not even a hello or can I help you (with the exception of the head chef , who seem perfectly cordial), the customer service was a joke, Will I eat here again, unlikely, as there is a perfectly good breakfast restaurant next door, who are polite, accommodating...

Super lovely cafe, love the vibe here. Had a fantastic coffee, great mugs & decor, seems like they’ve made all the right choices when it comes to deciding on experience.

However, the food, although lovely, was expensive and overpriced in my opinion. £4.50 for one slice of sourdough toast is a bit outrageous, I know it’s Clifton & all but jeepers! I had oats also which were £6.50, they were nice but small so could do with just a little something more like a nut butter choice.

The cost of the muesli was a little more justifiable with prep time - but that price for a slice of toast is wild (and wasn’t made clear on the menu that it was one piece)

Still a lovely place and will definitely return, but probably just for coffee! Would love to see a few vegan cake & pastry additions (wasn’t any on the day we went) and then I’d 100% return!

Atmosphere • 5* Coffee • 5* Food • 3.5* (purely due to cost) Service • 5* (lovely...
