The Albion is a pub and restaurant I’ve been wanting to try for a long time and when I did, I came to try the Sunday Roast. The main appeal for this pub came from seeing it at night, tucked away in a lane which looked like such a quaint experience! It definitely still has this vibe when visiting, albeit a bit smaller on the inside. The main room is fantastic, with a wonderful bar and a fireplace. The upstairs dining area is also good, but doesn’t carry the same atmosphere as downstairs. As for the food, it was a good meal, although a bit lacklustre in terms of quantity of food with the vegetables on the plate not being a significant portion. This was mildly disappointing as the Sunday Roast is at least £22 depending on the meat that is chosen. The vegetarian/vegan option (Mushroom & Squash) was absolutely fantastic and I’d recommend this even for meat eaters. It tasted a lot like stuffing and had a great texture and taste! The staff were are very friendly, except that we were informed to wait for our table to be ready but had to go and ask if it was ready later and weren’t informed by them ourselves. It would also have been courteous to tell us that the Chicken and Lamb meats weren’t available before we had sat down and decided what we wanted to have. Other than this, the staff were great.

Nestled in a quiet corner is The Albion, a charming 17th-century village pub that offers more than just beers and British meals - it serves up an enchanting slice of history. My gastronomic journey here was headlined by arguably one of the best fish and chips in town, crafted with exquisitely battered haddock. Each bite was a testament to the mastery of classic British cuisine, reminding me why this dish is a perennial favourite. The great tartar sauce deserves a special mention too. A chilled pint was the perfect accompaniment to the meal, and nothing beats savouring a cold, frothy IPA in a place that oozes history and character. In sum, our visit to The Albion was not only enjoyable but also well worth the investment. This rustic pub, with its tasty fare and a fine selection of beers, reaffirms why it remains a gem in the village. Don't miss out!

We stopped for lunch on a slight detour to Bristol airport. Parking close to the restaurant was difficult though we eventually found a pay and display (ring go) spot very close by. Two of us ordered the chicken burger as recommended by the excellent young waiter ( its table service only) the other friend ordered the burger, the chicken is a Brest filet will nice trimmings and a piece of bacon the bacon was back bacon but cooked (burnt) in way that’s perfectly fine with streaky but doesn’t work with back it was inedible and I removed it.the chicken itself was charred and cooked to a dried out, over chewy, state the beef burger was okay but no more than that. The website says that they have dog treats the waiter was unaware of that but went away to ask, he came back to tell us there are no dog biscuits but that they could supply pork crackling which the dog loved. In summary I will try again if in the area the service was very good from the young guys trying very hard, the ambiance is nice the food was ways from expectations as it was all...

It was a lovely experience with my family until it wasn't haha.

It was 7pm on this Saturday we arrived and we had a few drinks. It began so well because they found a table for us even when it was fully booked.

It took a turn when a friend of ours joined temporarily and was cracking the jokes. It felt like it was a crime to laugh here as out of no where the bouncer, an elderly fella came over and shouted in my mother's face! He threatened all of us without warning. If we had a warning for laughing we would've stopped laughing and gone else where no problems at all.

When my Mother spoke to the manager, he was not understanding and there was no compensation for the behaviour from the bouncer.

It was incredibly unfriendly and ruined the vibe.

Next time I recommend leave a sign to say, have no fun and drink your drinks.

It's also tiresome how you still stay in the covid...
