I was expecting a lot more from this place from what I'd heard. The staff were not very knowledgeable about the beers at all unlike with BrewDog or the small bar opposite and the beers didn't seem to be particularly well kept. Many of the taps had off flavours. Disappointingly, I think this place might just be here for the sake of money alone, piggybacking off of the success of BrewDog and the revolution which is occurring in beer but the people working and drinking here are missing the point and don't understand what this new trend really means for the beer world. It is built on very little, if any real passion and undermines the monumental shift in brewing which is occurring, especially in the UK and the US. For these reasons I consider this venue a copycat rip-off which fails to grasp the significance of it's selected industry and insults it, only existing to make profit out of a trendy concept. Very sad. If considering this place, don't be a fool, at least visit the small bar opposite where there is actual passion and understanding about beer. Learn something. Our visit BrewDog around the corner, you'll have a real experience there too. This place is for mindless consumerism...

Nice decor, though can get really loud as it is underground and the acoustics are amplified.
One of the barmen was really rude to a friend of mine, asking her to hurry up placing her order and debating whether or not she initially asked for ice in her drink. The table we were on had old plates and glasses which were not removed for some time.
The pizza's were okay, it was busy so we had a 40 minute wait. Though 2 out of the 8 pizzas we ordered never turned up so had to ask a waiter for them. They also had a rather thick crust around the edges making the main tasty middle fairly small. Mine was luke warm, though it was the last to arrive being forgotten about. Perhaps it was left on the side too long.
The whole place felt as if it was understaffed to cater for a Saturday night, with late/forgotten pizzas and tables not being cleared as the waiters were far too busy.
I'd go again for a drink during the week, but not for food...
Read moreI’ve been a customer of beer emporium since they opened including bringing tour groups to the pub. We have always loved it until today. I returned a pint of Bruges Zot that was past its best and asked for a refund. The member of staff refused. When I spoke to the ‘supervisor’ he refused to believe it was past its best but told me he couldn’t taste it as he was allergic. He eventually refunded me but refused to sell me another (different) beer despite having already opened the bottle of kwak that I asked for. He refused to give me his name when I asked for it in order to know who to complain about. This is the first time we have had a bad beer in the beer emporium and did not expect to be treated like this. Safe to say we will carefully consider our options in the future rather than just go to the...
