Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Cambridge

AWFUL AWFUL SERVICE. I went to the Costa 40 hills road cambridge to use the toilet as I’ve just come from another Costa downed my drink on the way and funnily enough needed the Loo after being on a train! Always loved Costa and the service, but no, not here. I asked politely to use the toilet and got told ‘it’s for customers’, I’ve spent all my money on Christmas shopping I didn’t need to spend more on another food or drink item I didn’t need just to use the toilet, I suffer with anxiety and using somewhere I feel comfortable and am familiar with is important to me. I feel disheartened by the situation I found myself in, and wish to bring light to this situation as I now feel embarrassed to ask for a simple human right. This is horrible to admit but it has also tainted my view of the company and their policy along with morale and common decency. I hope you can get back to me privately. Came in around 3;25 pm for some hot food as sandwiches in Co-op had sold out. I asked about hot food and replied with the oven has been cleaned and not serving hot food. That was 3;30 and the store closes at 5pm. I asked if they can make an exception. Had an aggressive manner from the male server. Ordered 2x h.c; 1 latte, one crossaint and one chocolate twirl but no manners from the server ( meanwhile the lady server was sort of polite and helpful) Was treated differently from another customer who was younger. This customer did not keep social distance at all and was invading my space. The servers did not ask her to keep social distance. This is poor training. The male server made her drink first! I had to wait extra 5 min for that. In the end the hc and latte was very substandard. You can see the HC in the photos.The latte was sour. What a waste of money!!!

Conclusion: an ageist attitude and will serve you if you are young and single!!!! Not keen on making anything on Sunday pm and so why is the store opened then???

I had my worst Costa experience ever at this particular costa. Although the baristas were lovely I was interrupted during my coffee and sandwich by perhaps the rudest costa employee ever.

At first he interrupted my lunch telling me extremely passively aggressively (more like active aggression) that it was a coffee shop and I couldn't eat my sandwich. I was very confused at this point as he was not dressed in Costa staff uniform but he got very close and had some of ththe worst teeth I've ever seen, great image to have your related to your brand.

This had not only created a huge amount of tension to a previously enjoyable lunch it made the women to my right feel so uncomfortable she bought me a coffee. And for the remainder of my lunch I had this employee swarming around me like a bad smell.
