Budget Restaurant
The orders were delivered quickly.
Everything tasted authentic. With generous meat and fresh vegetables.
The stir fry was not bitter like Yippee did. It means that the chef knows what he or she was doing. Stir fry would turn bitter if putting soy sauce too early.
I didn't feel thirsty for the rest of the day. It means the restaurant didn't over use MSG. Or without MSG.
Just the stir fry was a bit too oily.
Maybe there were a few rice noodles stuck together therefore failed to get the soy sauce coating. It's understandable, we are not in Asia, it's hard to get freshly made ho fan.
While the noodle soup, it was not handmade noodles like Funky Noodles. Take it easy, not all of the Asian restaurants make their own noodles, that include in Asia.
We are not living in Asia therefore shouldn't be to picky. At least the vegetables were genuinely fresh. Please take it easy.
The price was reasonable. With clean toilet. The menu is big. Budget but authentic restaurant.
It would be better if the stir fry...
Read moreCame here with my wife and daughter for dinner because we saw that they were newly opened and already had 5 stars by ~ 9 reviewers. We went for the steamboat buffet.
Despite the limited menu (which strangely didn't consist of pork), all the items were extremely fresh, e.g. prawns, eggs, and mushrooms. The servings of fatty beef and fatty lamb were super generous as well - I was delighted by the food portions. The tomato soup was great - my wife rated it really highly and I thoroughly enjoyed the mala soup base.
Service was excellent, perhaps maybe because there were few other customers, but the lady boss often checked in on us and gave my daughter a lollipop as well. We learnt then their shop was only a month old and could do with a little publicity.
Definitely returning to try more of the items on their menu. Just a pity that we are leaving Cambridge soon else we would be having steamboat here at least on a...
Read moreI hadn’t had Chinese food in ages before coming here, and the meal i just ate was a wonderful return to a cuisine i love. I had the hot and sour soup and a crispy sweet and sour pork dish, both of which were absolutely delicious — so delicious, i completely forgot to take a photo for this review before diving in! The prices were pretty reasonable too: my friend and i each ordered a starter and a main dish, and our total came to £28.50 (which i should mention had to be paid in cash, in case you aren’t in the habit of carrying cash on you). It’s no secret that Mill Road is choc-full of great restaurants, but if you’re in the mood for Chinese food, i’d highly...
