Booking/Arrival: Called to try oysters for the first time, and was welcomed to come and indulge. When I arrived the host greeted me warmly and took their time showing me around the restaurant and the different options for seating (Tuesday evening, fairly quiet). Seating: I chose to sit outside with the most fantastic view of The Fitz though the inside was a lovely cozy cottage setting. Ordering: I was given time to see the menu before ordering the glass of champagne with two oysters offered all day, all week. Service: My food was served as quickly as expected, polite, and perfect as were the explanations of how people choose to eat and garnish their oysters. Not the overpowering fishy taste I was expecting as with caviar/roe etc. The closest thing I’d describe them as is the subtle taste of the ocean breeze. I ordered 6 more and tried them in every permutation I could think of, plain, with the refreshing shallot mignonette, lemon slices, ground black pepper, and Tobasco sauce! 10/10, must visit.

What started as a chance encounter became one of our favorite restaurants in Cambridge! We were looking for a place to eat when it suddenly rained. Being the closest restaurant from where we were, we decided to check it out. Get the lunch set bcs it was super worth it. We had the mussels, shrimp, calamari, rump steak, fish and chips, cheese burger, and sticky toffee pudding and they were all amazing 10/10 no notes!! The team is suuuper friendly and service was amazing Went here for lunch 3 times out of the 5 days we spent in Cambridge. Will definitely come back if we’re ever back in town

We booked here for my dad’s birthday meal and it was incredible. The seabass was delicious and a good size meal! Our waitress was excellent really friendly and helpful and made the evening even better (she bought out a sparkler in my dads crème brulee for his birthday) we have already discussed when we’re coming back and I have recommended to my friends to try. Thank you!

Food was fine, Chateaubriand was cooked well and was very tender, burger was falling to bits as it was drenched in sauces, chilli prawns lacked flavour and were swimming in oil (why not butter?), bread had no butter or oil to accompany it, salad garnish was not fresh, french beans were totally overcooked, sweet potato fried and chilli broccoli were fine, but overall, compared to somewhere like The Ivy Cambridge, it lacked finesse of execution, flavours and presentation. Service was good, better than average UK standard that we now accept (better service in Vietnam!!), yet again, Ivy offers more attentive and better trained staff, like they don’t ask how is the meal whilst the customer is eating. The atmosphere was…alright.

Bottom line, I thought I’d check out North Star as I was expecting something really special, as it’s the only restaurant in Cambridge to have a 5-star Google rating. Now I’ve been, since The Ivy is rated 4.4, in comparison I’d give North Star a 4,...

Turf and Surf Restaurant

The restaurant was called Little Rose before. The same outline inside. I wondered if the owner or the chef or both have changed.

The most importantly, the menu was changed.

Food was nice, but unfortunately the portions were quite small(we ordered the biggest steak already). Quite a surprise that the salad was just Roman lettuce and cucumber. I expected it would be a salad with mixed vegetables. But at least the salad was fresh.

The portions of the main was small l, therefore we ordered a cheese board that was on the dessert menu.

Not a bad idea having cheese board in the dessert menu as all, not everyone has a sweet tooth.

The menu got expensive and cheaper options available. It depends on your budget.

I think I would come back to other things...
