Cafe Bar Royale — Restaurant in Carlisle

wanted to share a lovely experience I had at a cafe during my first visit to the city. As I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the staff who kindly informed me that I could sit anywhere I liked. I found a comfortable and spacious corner seat and settled in.

The menu had a great selection, but I decided to ask for something not listed. To my pleasant surprise, the staff member responded with a cheerful "yes" and kindly enquired about any allergies or preferences before taking my order. The cafe was bustling with other happy customers, and it was clear that this place was quite popular. The room was beautifully decorated with charming items available for purchase from the attached card shop, and the lighting added a lovely touch to the ambience.

It didn't take long for my order to arrive, and it was presented beautifully on the plate, piping hot and ready to enjoy. The atmosphere was so inviting that even after finishing my meal, there was no rush from the staff for me to leave. I paid for my meal and went shopping, but I was so impressed that I returned around lunchtime.

I can't recommend this cafe enough to anyone visiting the city. If I have the opportunity to return, this will definitely be my go-to spot. You definitely get the Royal...

My first visit today with my daughter, it's one of her favourite lunchtime go toos. I walked past the shop so many times and hadn't even registered the café. On arrival the cafe was full, so a wander around the shop was the order of the day. We advised the lovely lady who greated us of our decision and that we would be back. Around 5 minutes later said fabulous lady came and found us in the shop to say there was a free table. A wonderful menu, soup of the day, pie of the day, and the array of sweet treats and scones made decisions all the more difficult. A pot of Red Berry Suki Tea and Dirty Fries with cheese and bacon won the day. Reasonably priced too. The toilet was accessible and spotless, with baby changing facilities. The café was clean well presented, with friendly and welcoming staff. Whilst paying at the counter, the sweet treats were screaming "eat me" so loudly I opted for a Crunchie Tiffin to take out. A spectacular and delicious choice if I do say so myself!! I'll be going again to try the scones and brownies. I've visited several times now to eat in and for takeaway desserts or scones. The cherry scone was delicious and an excellent cup of coffee (latte).

The cafe is light and airy and the staff were extremely pleasant and efficient.

We arrived just before 12 noon and managed to secure a table, but the place was full by the time we left.
